I hope DW gets a HC job soon, but I think we all agree this is for the best. Hopefully he comes back with a vengeance and raises our defense to a whole new level next year.

Where do you think he is going now? I heard that he interviewed for the New Mexico State job. I also heard that Iowa State might be possible, and the DC job at LSU?

The LSU DC job

I’d keep a close eye on that.

i doubt he'd leave

for another DC job. he’s got the foundation set for a tremendous D next year. I doubt he’d give that up for anything but a HC job

I agree with you

The logic is on your side but …

yep

…we never know

Iowa State

is a possibility. Their HC just went to Auburn (not sure why lol). Low level BCS job with upside is really tempting for a top coordinator

lol

A hiring decision that makes the CTS hire seem to be solid, and well thought out.

That makes sense, but after Turner Gill turned around Buffalo, do you think that Walker might be looking at New Mexico State the same way?

New Mexico State

If he takes that gig, it would be a very weird move. Even Ken Norton Jr, who never has had any experience as a DC turned down that job.

DW deserves to coach a team of his own.

I think his best move is to wait it out here with us and wait for Norm and CRN to raise the offense to a spot of national prominence. That in turn will raise his profile and get him the kind of position that has a good chance of success on the field.

Apparently

A recommendation from Pom Pom didn’t carry much weight with SDSU!

Probably Didn't Wear A Sharp Blue Suit

DW was really too good for that job.

If he wanted it, sorry he didn’t get it. But, if he can put together a couple of years of consistent and strong D here, against all systems, he’ll get a top notch job.

I like the fact that he wants it now. Patience is not a virtue.
