Norton and Recruiting Questions
Ken Norton, Jr. claims that CRN is telling prospective recruits that if Walker leaves, Norton will be the new DC. Much as a I hate to link to the Toejam Times, here is the story. Norton is apparently very upset with CRN over these alleged representations.
More information need to come out about this. Where is Ken Norton, Jr. getting his information? I'd also like to see a flat denial from CRN.
Finally, note this (ironic) little dig from Cheatie Petey at the end of the story:
I've found over the years what you say in recruiting kind of tells who you are," Carroll said. "The truth always comes out in the end."
Sure, Pete. I am sure you and your program are all about the truth.
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of BruinsNation's (BN) editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of BN's editors.

hmmm.
People can twist words to their own ends.
Just from first glance, however, this sounds like Norton has made his bed and plans on being a Trojan from here on out. If this is the case, that would be very disturbing to me. I’m one of those people who have held out hope for him. I seriously hope he hasn’t joined the dark side of college football.

You missed the most important part...
But Sunday, Norton referenced Neuheisel’s troubled tenures at Colorado and Washington, saying, “It’s kind of a pattern of what happened in the past.”
If anyone still thinks we should have anything to do with Ken Norton in the future, this should put an end to it once and for all. This guy is poison.
Clearly ,we are under the Toejams skin because they are worried and complaining.

I tried following the link
but it’s not taking me there. So I googled it now that you brought that part up.
I think it is a sad sad day for the Sons of Westwood. In my heart I am saying good bye to a guy that should have been a lasting legacy for us. Somebody we could really be proud of.
Kenny, If you are listening, I was proud to greet you during my time on campus when you were a member of my beloved 49ers. I was sincere in wishing you and the 49ers a good year. As a Bruin I took pride in your accomplishments in the National Football League. But, as of this shocking news, I can no longer consider you a member of my extended Bruin Family. I wish you the best in life in all things, but I encourage you to reflect on the things you do for advancement. As Coach Wooden has said, “there is a difference between making a living and making a life.”

Not much can turn Norton from the dark side at this point.
Considering the number of years he has been at SUC and all the things that have gone on while he has been there, there is very little Bruin left in him. He can’t be completely blind to all the Trojan crap and must be condoning it.
Unless Coach and Howland are secretly training his twin children in the ways of the Pyramid, he is lost to the dark side. And I don’t think any of his kids are twins.

Misinformation
Norton has a problem with hearing his name bandied around for the possible DC opening? It’s been reported in the papers numerous times already about the possibility so it’s not like it’s anything new. Hypocritical of him to allegedly take the “high” road in the recruiting while he drums up Neuheisel’s past. Even moreso with Cheatey Petey. What kind of crap is he trying to pull? Did he and Norton already forget the Brian Price recruiting with the not-really-a-stretch-limo-it’s-just-a-very-long-car limo? As if Pom Pom has the best interests of the recruits in mind when he’s visiting people’s homes.

TY
The day he went to suc, was the day I began to despise this guy. I know others were ok with him coming back, but personally, I never wanted him back. So you help lobby KD to get the HC job so you are entitled to a job??? Sure….whatever. The whole BP thing, seeing him jump up & down when Thugalaga cheap shot PC, etc continues to validate why I don’t like this guy anymore.
Yes, CRN has made his mistakes but the difference between him and Cheatey is that he has owned up to it. While cheatey still doesn’t acknowledge all the dirt within his program.
