W BBall splits final home games

The regular season came to a close this weekend at home against the Arizona schools.  On thursday night, the Bruins fell to ASU 73-67.  The Bruins came out with a lack of energy and continued to struggle on the offensive end to find themselves down 17, 27-10 midway through the first half.  The bruins would go into halftime down 12.  The second half UCLA played with better energy, on several occasions cutting ASU's lead to 3 points.  In the end, UCLA couldn't make the shots down the stretch and ASU made enough free throws to ice the game.

Today's game had a early start time, 11am.  Today was senior day, with Lindsey Pluimer the only senior on the team being honored before the game, along with recognizing the seniors of UofA and the trainers on our team.  Lindsey led the Bruins with 18 points as UCLA won 80-70.  The win gives UCLA a 15-14 season record, 10-8 in conference, which ties for 4th with SC (who wins the tie breaker).

UCLA will now be heading up to San Jose for the womens pac-10 tournament next weekend.  UCLA will have to win in order to get to the NCAA tournament.  UCLA will be facing $C in the first round, a team UCLA hasn't beaten in years.  After that, UCLA will most likely face a combination of Cal, ASU or Stanford in the last two rounds should UCLA advance that far.

I'll be up there with the band, so i can bring back news from the tournament.  Until then, GO BRUINS
