Pat Forde Joins the UCLA Bash Bus

Check out the following drivel that was spewed this morning by yet another UCLA-basher, Pat Forde.

Just in the past week, Pauley Pavilion seemingly became Homer Central: the atrocious foul call against Stanford's Lawrence Hill (2) on Thursday night while snuffing a Darren Collison shot with 2.5 seconds left; and the egregious non-call on UCLA's mugging of Cal forward Ryan Anderson (3) in the corner two days later. That, of course, was followed by the non-call on the over-the-backboard shot by UCLA's Josh Shipp (4) -- which at least was close, as opposed to the other two. All I can say is are you kidding me? The assklown also notes that UCLA is "vulnerable" as we have lost in the first round of the Pac-10 Tourney "three of the last four years."

This garbage can be peroused at your leisure here.

What will Furdee say when we win Banner #12? GO BRUINS (1964)! GO BRUINS (1965)! GO BRUINS (1967)! GO BRUINS (1968)! GO BRUINS (1969)! GO BRUINS (1970)! GO BRUINS (1971)! GO BRUINS (1972)! GO BRUINS (1973)! GO BRUINS (1975)! GO BRUINS (1995)! GO BRUINS (2008)!

I liked Pat Forde
but surely not anymore.  "Atrocious" and "mugging" calling the calls and non-calls that we recevied this past weekend is atrocious itself.  And don't even talk shit about the backboard shot.  Give me a f*ing break man.

Unfortunately we're going to have to pull a 2007 Patriot season (minus the championship game of course!) . . . we're going to have to pound teams from here on out, dominate them to get any respect.  But I guess as long as we keep wining we'll earn back the respect we deserve.

Linking to Telemachus's video. Clear evidence for anyone who desires it.

Eh
it doesn't bother me. They can talk all they want, but if we hang banner #12, these last 2 games and especially Shipp's shot will go into NCAA lore instead of being controversial. Nobody gets disrespected when they win the title. That trophy is the ultimate sign of respect. If we can put together 6 straight starting next week I could care less what these guys are saying.

the best part of basketball..
thats why i love college basketball. all u gotta do is win and respect will follow...

unlike college football, where unfortunately uninformed opinions and reputations have a large part to do with determining the champion.

Makes you wonder
how many times did these hacks at espn watch the clip? Did they even watch it? Or did they just talk to one of their colleagues? I can certainly tell you they probably didn't watch the replay more than one or two times.......whatever.

mmm...
I guess his wording isn't all that great, but I think the point of the article was more aiming at the officials than us. If you read further on, he calls out on the officials on other games as well. Our games were just the more recent games with "game changing results due to calls." Though I still do not like his wording and not agree with what he says, he's also entitled to his opinions.

This actually doesn't bother me in the least
He's entitled to his opinion, especially as it is clearly an opinion-based article.  While I disagree (especially about the Anderson non-call) I don't think it's out of line for him to write this.  It is, after all, the WWL.

At least it's consistent
ESPN writers not doing research and followup is par for the course.

Consistently Terrible Reporting!
Great moniker.  Forget that "WWL" garbage

haha
its all meaningless...but at least he had the "courtesy" to say "it was a hell of a shot" lol

and while the Furd call was questionable, becuase you never like to see the refs blow a whistle on a call that close that late...the more I watch the Kal play the more im 100 percent sold that it was not "a hack" (lavin) and that it did in fact go off anderson's hand.

so im ready to move on already

O.A.

KL Took A Charge...
right before the DC call. It was plain as day that his feet were set, and he was bowled over. The ref that called the DC penalty was the same ref that blew the KL call. Had that call been made, we are at the line for the win, instead having to make two to tie. If anyone should be pist, it should be us.

Andersen's call; that shit happens all the time, get over it.

Unfortunately
You don't shoot free throws on a charging call.  However we would've had the ball with the chance to take the lead.

They were in the bonus
Thought you shot free-throws on any foul in the bonus regardless of the type. Thanks for the heads up. Either way, the basket doesn't count, and we have the ball with the opportunity to win the game.

the big dog is right
i know im biased, but in both those games the officiating was blowing calls all day against us. tick tack offensive fouls on love, missing charges on stanford, not to mention moving picks, and some phantom traveling calls. i doubt those dudes even watched the stanford game- all's they see is a close call at the end and a jack ass fsn announcer saying that such a foul isn't appropriate in that juncture.
same with cal you have lavin pointing to a hacker by the grassy noll (sp?) and the espn clowns are all too happy to follow suit. both were close calls that went our way and upon replay were legit, or at least defensible.
i can't wait for the our first game of the pac 10 tourney. we either get cal- who we'll beat by 40 just to shut these clowns up, or washington and i can bean washington players with golf balls from the 200's section in staples

hahah
RB, I am waiting Patiently to see the golf balls fly. I really want Aboya to seek revenge with a "unintentional" facial, but we all know the program is too classy for that.

P.S.

How is McCabe out there running his mouth about the UCLA "bad calls" when his punk ass claimed that the infamous-throw-into-the-face, was unintentional and pretty much blamed AA2 by stating that he jumped into the pass. IDIOT. I mean does this guy think that we don't watch the same replays. He looks like a biased ass.

Actually, McCabe is Bi
He's said the calls were right and he's said the calls were wrong.

That's too bad
I've always like Pat Forde and he is usually pretty level headed. The only thing that I can atttribute this to is ESPN's general love all things SUC and minimizing all things UCLA.

Let them rant all they want. When we hoist #12 they will have nothing to say. (or they'll jump on our coat tails and pretend they knew it all along.)

Huh?
"That, of course, was followed by the non-call on the over-the-backboard shot by UCLA's Josh Shipp.."

Of course?

God, it's great to be a Bruin!
