A slight detour from March Madness

Found this link on a message board that I frequent (Fark, for those who were curious). Check it out:

Father sees picture of son in Oregon student section flipping off Kevin Love, takes away car as punishment

Here's some of the highlights (and the above link has great photo evidence):

"I was shocked to see, in a photo of the Oregon student section, my son partaking in the harassment of UCLA's Kevin Love. When he came home the following weekend, his car was taken away and he headed back to school on a bus. I am embarrassed and wish to apologize to Kevin and his family." -- Armando Navarro, Clackamas, Ore.

Sounds like this Oregon kid will realize that you can still root against the visiting team but do it with class.

On a sidenote, what a game on Saturday. I had neighbors banging on my walls trying to shut me up, but nothing short of the police breaking down my door could have stopped my Russell Westbrook-like roar when the clock finally ticked 0.0. I'm assuming that there were many, like myself, who roared along with Russell as he punctuated the victory with the sick jam.

We cannot take Western Kentucky lightly. Luckily for us, we have one of (if not THE) greatest coaches in the land behind us. Lee is a great player, so Westbrook will have his work cut out for him.

Thats classic. The LOVE family endured way too much unnecessary harrasment. This kid should have to ride the bus for awhile.

I picked up the SI issue today

and the letter right above it is probably the reason why the Oregon dad letter was printed.

The biggest problem is fan anonymity and the lack of accountability. I sincerely hope that somebody's father, girlfriend or boss reads Grant Wahl's article and recognizes one of those insensitive jerks photographed screaming insults during the game at which Kevin Love's grandmother was brought to tears. Maybe the OU AD's dad should take away his car

IIRC, Stan Love was rightfully annoyed at the OU AD's non-apology. Maybe a little mass transit time might make him recognize bad behaviour and the need to set it right..

..or, Just Hire Mr Navarro for AD. At least OU would have a student body that behaved with class.

I roared too...

in my apartment on Midvale. Though there were a few students left, I could hear from the distance lone wolves hollering like RW. For one night we were wolves like RW.
