Coach Wooden Update (Friday)

Coach's condition continued to improve and per yesterday's latest update Coach's family was expecting to get him in next couple of days:

John Wooden, UCLA's legendary former basketball coach, is improving daily during his stay in a local hospital. The name of the hospital is being withheld at the request of the family.

"Dad was doing much better today," said Nan Muehlhausen, Coach Wooden's daughter. "His rapid heart rate is under control and we think he should be leaving the hospital in the next couple of days.

"(Hall of Fame basketball player) Bill Russell and his wife visited Dad earlier today. Andy Hill, one of Dad's former players, also visited." Several of Coach's former players have visited him in the last few days, including Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Michael Warren.

Muehlhausen also said that Coach Wooden watched Thursday night's game versus Stanford on television with his son Jim. Get well soon Coach!
