Around SBN: Interview With UMD Athletic Director, Dr. Debbie Yow

Bruce Davis a Steeler

Looks like BD is headed to Pittsburgh as their third-round draft pick.

Star-divide

From ESPN NFLDraftTracker:

Pittsburgh gets another rush outside linebacker in Davis. Although he isn't a powerful bull-rusher and he needs to do a better job of anchoring against the run, he has the initial burst to turn the corner and is big enough to become an adequate run-stopper at outside linebacker. Full third-round results here.

Good luck, Bruce!

Off-topic draft note
but is an SC dig really ever off topic?

Wizzard Of Odds blog has posted the Wonderlic scores of the Quarterback prospects in this year's draft. Does it surprise anyone to hear that USC's John David Booty placed dead last, with a score of 14/50 (the average QB score is a 24, while "A score of under 10 is an indication of literacy problems", and a score of 15 = Terry Bradshaw).

Booty sure took a tumble
He was expecting to be a second- or third-round pick, apparently.  Fifth round must have been humbling.

Matt Slater a NE Patriot
Slater joins Bruce in the league.  Fifth-round pick by the Pats.  Hope he has as much luck with NE's special teams squad that he had with ours.

Breazell, Brown sign contracts
Brandon Breazell signed a 2-year free agent contract with the KC Chiefs today.

Trey Brown also signed a free agent contract, with the Chicago Bears.
