Around SBN: Will Rhymes 'Fine' After Being Hit By Pitch And Fainting

True Colors Shining Through

From BN reader hawk:

I woke yesterday feeling terrible from the loss Saturday night.  Went outside to work in the yard, looked up, and it's still waving.  Bruin fans, everything will be ok.
hawk was referring to this:

After the Texas A & M game, Class of 66 sent me shots of his Bruin colors flying proudly in his Houston neigborhood in the Lone Star state. I have no doubt all our true colors flying all over the country coast to coast this week.

No matter what happens with Coach Howland in charge everything is going to be all right in the world of Ben Ball. Meanwhile, we have a Neu era to get fired up over and totally focus on in the coming days at Spalding Field.

GO BRUINS

so glorious
so glorious and so proud of our program.  our true colors are actually flying everywhere.  on the dreaded day after, we went to the neighborhood dog park in sf east bay, over 10 people including me proudly proudly wore bruin colors.  you're so right, we will be OK.  as i'm watching kansas-memphis game in OT, i can only think of one thing...we will be back on this very stage in 09.  thanks for the photo!

(this is my first post!  always read, never posted...the picture broke my 'shyness' i guess)

yay
we will be back soon

something to make me smile though is memphis choking it away on free throws... wont make a difference to us but at least its consolation seeing Calipari and thugball lose

Free throws, free throws, free throws
their weakness finally exposed in the tournament

Free Throws
Guess it's a lot easier to hit free throws when you are 10 points up vs. when the game is on the line.

I have to stop thinking about what could have been if we could have hit some shots...

A bit off-topic
but congratulations to Kansas on a gutsy, gutsy win.

And I'm sure the irony of the night is: "Free throws have never cost us a game."

Now that this seasons over, its time to keep our heads up for the next. As long as Howland keeps on howlin', theres nothing but good times for the Westwood Warriors.

I'm still rockin' the gear!
Another good run for our Bruins has come up just a bit short.  Nothing to be ashamed of. I still got my flag flying proudly as does one of my neighbors.

Lets start on our campaign to keep Love, Westy, and DC for one more year!!  oh, and get Howland an extension!

My thoughts on a KU win
1. Obviously I'm happy that Memphis completely choked on Calipari's words about free throws, couldn't of happened to a bigger scum bag.

2.I do have much more respect for the Kansas players, but especially their coach Self. While he did leave Illinois high and dry, I think hes a pretty good guy from what I could see.

3.My only problem with Kansas winning though, is that I don't like to see the blue bloods collect championships.  While I think its great for basketball that UNC KU and UCLA are all strong at the same time, something about seeing those two get one in last 5 years just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

4. I really think Roy's move tonight was bogus.  I think he did it just to be in the media and be the good guy again, when really, in my opinion, he kind of betrayed his heels.  If Pitt had beaten us in the final 4 two nights ago, I don't think I would of enjoyed seeing CBH there with a little panther buttoned to his shirt.

O.A.

I'm Just Bummed
that it's not us. I have to keep convincing myself our time will come (I'm confident it will with Coach Howland...I just have to keep the ingrained pessimism from being a Cubs fan away).

But I enjoyed seeing Memphis blow it.

The contrast with the 2 finalist was clear
They both had more depth than we did.  I hate to agree with BillyP but he said something to the effect that "while UCLA has reserves that can play defense, Memphis has reserves that can play defense and offense."

Kansas showed that too.

We will get #12 and more.  But we will need a complete team.  We are already really close but still not there.

Can't wait for next year no matter who stays and who goes.

Go Team Go!
