Please Help! I don't want Fox to beat me to this.
As the oldest Geezer in the Bruins Nation garden, I've been thrilled with the switch to the new SB Nation formatting.
I took a picture for my "identity" and wanted to post the same picture, in a bigger version as a fan shot -- with a text message accompanying it.
I've read the fan shot instructions, and I downloaded the "Share on SB Nation" button and installed it on my browser.
Here's where I stumbled. It appears to me that simply dragging a lo res .jpg onto the space in the Share window does nothing; the image fills the window and then there is no way to publish it.
It appears to me that the only way to get an image up is to start by putting it on a web image space and then using the url from that space to load it. I'm a little hesitant to do that because Flickr and many of those spaces allow you to park images at the expense of forfeiting control over them. Not that it matters with this image.
Anyway, before Fox beats me to it, can someone direct me to a place where I can learn how to do this -- or in the alternative give an old man a hand?
Thanks.

This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of BruinsNation's (BN) editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of BN's editors.

Here is what I do at work, since this looks like the same program
Save your picture as a JPEG and give it an HTML address. When you click on “New Fan Posts” click the icon with the picture of a tree. Copy and past the HTML address there, and be sure it ends with “jpg”.
This is probably going about it the long way, but it’s the only thing I can think of.

I was intrigued by the subject line
I have never beaten sjh to anything, and thought “Oh, boy. Here’s my chance!” Then I read all the incantations, the stuff from the secret doomsday book of the Druids, the ancient Aztec and Maya discussions with the aliens, and all that. It turns out that I am no threat to beat Steve to anything, because I am not even sure what the subject is. I have no access to teenagers, either, so there is no possibility of help from that quarter. Ah well. Another opportunity missed.
P.S. Does this have anything to do with Opera?

Fox, Once I've Got It, I'll help you out.
BTW—My 16 year old is busier than I am, and I’m busy. I think the time to get help is when they are 12.

Give it an HTML address?
Just make one up. If so, what does an html address look like? Would you send me one?
Does “Share on SB Nation” actually park it somewhere? I can’t see how an image on my desktop, given a phony name, actually gets to BN for publication.
Thanks young BB for helping out. I really want to share the image.

Just a regular website address
Do you have an account for PhotoBucket, Snapfish, Flickr, or similar site? That might do the trick.
What I have to do at work is go to another part of the website, select the picture from the desktop, then the the program gives it a website address. The photosharing sites should also be able to give you a web address for the picture.
BTW, I think your thumbnail pic is great. While I love all UCLA items, I really love the old school stuff.

bruinbabe has it.
you can post to Flickr or a similar site to host your image then use the url of the jpg to to post your image here. unless it specifically states to in the terms you shouldn’t lose copyright control over your image. also if you are uneasy with photo sharing sites your isp most likely would host your image too, but i don’t know if that would be any easier. (if you aren’t comfortable with ftp it may be better to forget that idea all together unless your isp has another way to upload to their server) .

Thanks To Both of You
I’m going to take a look at my .mac account. I can probably park it there.

You have a mac!
I haven’t had a .mac account for a few years, but if you have the image in iphoto it’s as simple as clicking on the image and then going to share -> .mac slides or web gallery. this will publish it to your .mac homepage.

Mac Simplicity
Thanks, makenji, it was easy.
I put the image in iPhoto and it pushed it up to my .mac account. On .mac, I brought up the picture and copied the link. Back to BN and I put the link in a Fanshot.
Take a look, the image is there.
Fox, I’m ready to teach you.
I’m sure you, too, have some visual history to share with all of us.
