OJ2 = Dumber Than We Thought?

The LA Times has an article up (written by its Heritage Hall minion er I mean beat reporter) in which OJ2 is claiming he didn't receive any 'improper benefits':

"My family hasn't accepted anything, so I'm just waiting for the NCAA to do what they have to do to prove that I haven't done anything wrong," Mayo said. "I have nothing to hide, so I'm willing to do whatever to hurry the process."

Too bad in the same article OJ2 let out this (emphasis added):

Mayo said he didn't feel betrayed by Johnson but acknowledged that he was "mad at the fact that he said I accepted some money. I have never received any cash from any agencies or anything. The money I've got, friends send it from home or my school check."

Uhm that is exactly one of the allegations made by Johnson (that money was being funneled to OJ2 via his friends. From the extensive ESPN report :

Guillory has been giving money to Mayo for years, according to Johnson, who provided Western Union receipts that illustrate how Johnson and Guillory wired hundreds of dollars to friends of Mayo while he was in high school to avoid a paper trail leading to Mayo.

Seriously. How dumb is this kid. And then the LAT article has this little detail:

Following the interview, Mayo slipped into a red Porsche Cayenne GTS with two friends and drove off, saying he was headed to Chicago for workouts in advance of next month's NBA draft.

Just SURREAL.

GO BRUINS.
