We Love (UC)LA: Lakers Open Thread (Game 5 v. Celtics)
Boston Celtics at Los Angeles Lakers, Jun 15, 2008 6:00 PM PDT
Here we go.
Not sure if I need any more commentary/analysis on what the Lakers need to do given what happened on Thursday night.
Jordan and his team-mates should have a pretty good idea on what needs to get done tonight:

Otherwise they will have a long hot summer before trying to make up for it next year. The game tips off at 6:00 pm PST and as usual you can track the score online here .
The court is all yours.
Fire away.
GO LAKERS & GO BRUINS.

TIGER!!!
US Open is going into overtime. With no bar review class tomorrow, guess I know what I’ll be absentmindedly watching.
That was AWESOME
Was there every any doubt that Tiger would find a way? He’s the man. LET’S GO LAKERS!!!
Not at all
Rocko is ranked like 158 – great underdog story. Just fun to see Tiger there with him – if Rocko wins, he has beaten the best…
I'm usually for the underdog
but when it comes to guys like woods, and federer(at least seemingly until recently), I find it impossible for me to root against them. They are so mentally tough, and play the game so beautifully that when I saw tiger pull out an 18 hole playoff with birdie on 18, with a bad knee, I found myself screaming with joy…he is the man
O.A.
wow that was intense..
I like how kobe basically compared whats left of this series tot he elite 8, its win or go…we’ll take it one game at a time just like we do with the bruins, and hope for the best…

Fans...
The fans at staples tonight reminded me of the ucla alums at the final four. They didn’t start standing up and urging the lakers into the game until like the 2 minute mark in the FOURTH. I mean its possibly the last game of the season and the celts are making a run, they needed to be going nuts for that entire game. I was in the student section during the Final Four and it was the same thing with the UCLA fans in the nice seats, they just sat there, while we students were out of our seats trying to yell loud enough to reach the court from tip off. That said I’m not trying to stir things up, just wanted to say if you are lucky enough to get seats at a championship event you should have no voice by the end of the game. 110% in the stands = 110% on the court.
I feel like the
home court advantage thing at staples probably gets louder than the games, tickets are only 15 bucks so it wont be all of hollywood sitting in the court side seats. Assuming its on for games 6 and 7, I’m thinking about going to the home court advantage thing…you never know how often you’ll get a lakers celts nba finals, so I may as well soak it in at staples at least once
O.A.
I feel you
I was thinking of going too. I can’t go on Tuesday, so let’s hope there’s a game 7! That environment would be awesome!
was at the game thursday and yesterday.
the crowd was much louder and more into it yesterday. Don’t know if it showed up on tv, but they were loud, and during a couple of tv breaks the crowd really got going trying to fire up the lakers after a time out.
"when you've seen how big the world is, how can you make due with this?"

It sounded loud on the radio
I was at a Father’s Day dinner, so that was my only means of keeping up with the game. Sometimes it was hard to hear the commentary because of the crowd noise.
