One of the most memorable moments of my time at UCLA...

I was there at the game in Oakland in person. This moment sends sheer tingles of joy and excitement everytime I watch it. I didn’t even realize it at the time that we actually went up with the lead, I thought we had just tied it. My friends I were with were looking at me like I was crazy, not being all jumpy up and down until they started shaking me saying, “We;re winning.”

And then Morrison crying, the whole arena being in pandemonium, and meeting Ed O’Bannon out front.

Thank you so much for everything Luc, good luck in the NBA, but in mine (and I’m sure everyone else’s, you will always be a BRUIN.

Wow

I had completely blocked out the first half of that game in my mind. Actually, I think I blocked out the first 30 something minutes. I will never ever forget “BAUTISTA WITH THE CAAAAAAAAATCHHHH”

Thank you Luc for not blowing that shot. Thank you…. thank you…. thank you.

The lay-up was important

but the real clincher was his dive-and-steal. Gonzaga still had a good chance to score after LRMAM’s bucket, but it ended after The Dive.

I love his single-minded focus after he scored. In that video, I see him zeroed in on the ball like a free safety, sprinting toward it like a track star, then diving for it like a shortstop a la Ozzie Smith.

THAT was when I knew we’d won the game. And I will always remember those few seconds as the epitome of Luc Richard Mbah a Moute.

Godspeed, Luc! And thank you.

HEARTBREAK CITY!

and Luc is the man. Hope you show the league what it means to play “D” which seems to be almost a lost art out there.

Peace.

one of a kind

Luc is really one of a kind. Not many players will dive on the floor to make a steal like that. And he has done it many many times in his career as a bruin… we just remember this one because it basically clinched the game for us. I miss him already…

Lakers… want a great defender???

Pure Joy.

That was the game we got our mojo back. It blew me away to see that we were the two seed to Gonzaga’s three seed. This was a huge upset. Gonzaga and Duke were 1 and 2 all season and it was a foregone conclusion that one of those two schools was going to win the championship. Morrison and his buddy, (Reddick? not sure) talked about meeting up in the finals.

We were just happy to be in the sweet 16 after losing in the first round the year before.

Thank You Luc! Thanks for 3 great years. Thanks for everything.

Goosebumps

Man, that gets me every time! The last 30 seconds or so is actually the ringtone on my phone, so I smile every time I get a call. :) Luc was integral in the win over gonzaga and we will never forget it. This one stings a little because I feel like he should have returned, being that he is a second rounder, but I appreciate his contributions to the team. Good luck to you, Luuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuc…

Moute Kicks Boute

Still one of the best T-Shirts ever made. I’m a proud owner and wear it often.

He’ll be kicking Boute in the Association for years to come. Thanks for 3 amazing years which would not have been the same without you.

All the best, Luc.
