Westbrook is an OKC Sonic
The team and the city reached a 75 million dollar settlement. I wonder if the name will remain the same.

He won't be a Sonic
Bennett said he and Seattle Mayor Greg Nickels signed a binding agreement Wednesday, which would be formalized later, that keeps the SuperSonics’ name, logo and colors available if Seattle gets a replacement franchise.

While I'm sad for the people of Seattle...
...I’m very happy for the people of Oklahoma City. OKC gets its first major pro franchise, and considering the number of people who came out and supported the Hornets while they New Orleans was underwater, I could think of few places more deserving of getting a team.
I know it’s a raw deal for the folks in Seattle, but at least you have the Mariners…okay, scratch that, at least you still have the Seahawks, I guess.

HEAVY Sigh...
Just a heartbreaker for us. As I’ve said before, the Sonics are part of Seattle’s soul.
While I do believe Seattle will pick up a franchise, but…it will just never be the same, in a way. (The only reason I don’t want them to fall on their heads in OKC has the initials RW.) As we sat and watch the ESPN report, my husband and I began planning our road trips to OKC for games. We will wear our retro “SuperSonics” jerseys, I expect. (I just hope they don’t end up being the OKC “Cowboys” or something equally stupid.)
God, I need a drink.

Is OKC in the panhandle?
Could the team be the Panhandlers?
Or the Okies?
I have a name that hasn’t been claimed in the NBA—and its one that I could get behind. How about the Oklahoma City Bruins.
