1. USC-UCLA: Sure, there are big-time state rivalries, but how many legitimate national powers occupy the same city? And talk about wild swings of momentum: UCLA won eight in a row from 1991-98, then USC won seven in a row from 1999-2005. New Bruins coach Rick Neuheisel's prime directive is to restore balance to the rivalry. His and Pete Carroll's frenetic energy and relentless enthusiasm -- and tendency to be glib -- figure to make for a very entertaining future.

I'm sorry but
I’m gonna have to go with Fox on this one and give Ted Miller a WATSHOOTALKINBOUTWILLIS??!! I do not agree with that list one iota. Completely out of whack. But nice of him to give the Pac-10 some exposure on the WWL.com.

UCLA-SUC
I’ve always said it’s the best sports rivalry in all of college athletics (Assuming one could call SUC a “college”).
It’s top-10 football rivalry. And it’s a big rivalry in everything else, from men’s basketball to women’s tiddlywinks.
Natural rivals, two of the winningest programs in all of college athletics, and not just in the same state, but in the same city. No other rivalry can even come close to that combination.
Obviously, I’m biased having lived my whole life in California, but I can’t see any other two progams with the same pedigree for that title.

It's the only one that makes sense
on that list. But he’s from the Northwest, so he might have a different perspective…
