The level of talent Tennessee will unleash on UCLA's defenseless offense is almost frightening. That click you heard was first-year Bruins Coach Rick Neuheisel turning off the film projector.

What is a

“defenseless offense”?

May be Plaschke can explain?

The Trojan Times wants UCLA to give up now and hide in a hole somewhere.

I guess we should fold the team

Chris Durfressnenne (whom I have never heard of until this day) says we stink. I guess that takes care of the season.

One question – who is this Chris person? And he writes for the fishwrap? That’s a great credential. Maybe he’s one of Doh!’s impeccable “sources.”

Ya know

It doesn’t bother that a reporter would say negative things about our team, afterall, we haven’t earned much praise for our on-field performance in years.

It also doesn’t really bother me that a local reporter would try to be humorous in ripping our team, especially considering he works for a hack of a publication.

However, it does bother me that he would rip apart a group of 18-22 year old student-athletes whom he has never seen perform on a football field. We have the best OC in the nation, a fantastic head coach, a great O-line coach, and some solid athletes. We won’t be great on the OL, but I also doubt we’ll be at the bottom of the Pac-10 on OL, either.

Expectations are so low for this offense that I think even a Karl Dorrell led offense (which I’ve never actually seen) might actually be able to beat the expectations of some of these idiots in the MSM.

You Know,

I think a number of “experts” were saying very similar things about our country’s men’s gymnastics team after we lost both of the Hamm brothers. Huh.

The next “click” you heard were all the world’s cameras flashing at the new Bronze medal winners…a team with no “superstars.”

Love My Bruins

Great Comment Bruingirl!

I don’t mind the press we are getting – great bulletin board material and I think this team will do well using the “us against the world” metality. Rick will be able to pump this team up and the defense will keep our team in games. You never know…

Funny...

...last year, Tennessee went to Cal…with a 4th year QB…a great OC…lots of talent…and lost to Cal (who, it has been shown here, has the same or worse talent than UCLA).

This year, Tennessee doesn’t have its 4th year QB…doesn’t have its great OC…just lots of talent…and over 2000 miles to travel. They are a great team, no doubt. But I am seriously not worried. Not one bit. If we lose, it won’t be a blowout.

Oh, and we did beat that Cal team last year…but that’s ok, these are just small details that the likes of Dufrenetic don’t deem worthy of their brilliant articles. Hopefully, some day, the Trojan Times will unleash some talent on its defenseless sports pages. Until then, we’ll let Dufreakyfreaky entertain us.

OL Line

I haven’t had a chance to check this but wasn’t the article on the O line by Chris Foster?

The last time we opened at home against an SEC foe

Did we not take care of Alabama in 2000? Were they not ranked 3rd in the country? Were they not supposed to handle us easily?

I’m just saying, it’s not so obtuse that one believes we have a chance. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

Wait - what are you saying, Stick

You mean even though an “expert” says we’ll get blown out that we actually will still have to play the game? What’s the point? An expert like this guy who writes for the fishwrap says we’ll get beat. And he’s a football expert. I know he’s an expert because he pontificates like an expert. And he writes for such an esteemed paper as the fishwrap – those journalistic whiz-kids who still haven’t figured out what all the hoopla about reggie bu$h is all about. Yeah – that’s some great credential there.

But that’s really a novel notion you have – actually play the game.

(As you may have perceived, I have had all I need from MSM wise men.)
