Phillip Fullmer says his team will have no problem with Bruins

Tennessee's head coach Phillip Fullmer was interviewed during today's Kentucky v. Louisville game.  Fullmer came across with  rather cocky attitude.  Fullmer said his team is one of best in nation and will handle the Bruins with ease.  According to Coach Fullmer, Bruins are not a good team.  It appeared that Fullmer is expecting to blow out the Bruins.  Somewhat of a rather curious attitude for a coach who went to Cal last year and lost in their opening game.  As I recall, Fullmer and his Volunteer team were supposed to go blowout Cal and ended up getting beat.

This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of BruinsNation's (BN) editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of BN's editors.

Pride comes before the fall.

I hope his confidence clouds his judgment during the game.

bonecar

You need to give us with the exact quote and citation when making an assertion like this.

Otherwise, this stuff belongs in a message board.

Nestor

I assert nothing. I provided the citation. As stated in my post, it was an interview that was conducted during today’s Kentucky v. Louisville game. It was a nationally televised game. Requiring an exact quote is not possible since it occurred during a televised game that I did not TIVO, and I did not have a notepad next to me to write “exact” quotes. I provided a synopsis of the interview and what was said along with some perspective from what occurred in their game last year with Cal. If anyone else watched the game and heard the interview, they could agree, disagree, or provide their perspective or the interview. The point of the post was to inform and discuss.

Uh no

You provided nothing. Anyone can cite an interview and make something up.

You came over here and posted something to rile people up without providing an exact quote with a link or citation. The standard of asserting something is a little higher than message board here on BN.

Your post provided no information except for the fact that some random poster saw something on TV and shared it on the internets without any kind of hard evidence. That gives us nothing.

Another thing, bone

It seems somewhat out of character for a football coach to say something so inflammatory. I have no recollection of hearing any coach say something like that, let alone Fullmer. But it does sound like something someone would make up and circulate, just to see what happens. I agree with Nestor – I would like to know the “five W’s” for Fullmer’s ostensible statement.

Totally disagree bonecar

I caught the interview while having lunch yesterday and while I can’t give an exact quote, Fulmer prefaced some of his comments with things like “the Bruins are a good team” and “they have a real solid defense” before going on to say why he thought Tennessee would get the job done. I think he struck the appropriate balance between being confident in his team while not giving UCLA any bulletin board material.

So, with that said, I totally, 100% disagee with your take on the interview bonecar. Sorry dude.
