Lame Marcia bashes UCLA football in the OC Register again
Remember Marcia Smith from the OC Register?
Less than two weeks ago the lame OC Register reporter who 'blogs' on its "UCLA Blog" wrote a very poorly researched, sloppy post about UCLA' s season ticket sales comparing to SuC's season ticket sales.
She is at it again. She showed up at UCLA's media day yesterday and wrote up another sucky post that drips with sarcasm and contempt towards Bruins:
The first day of fall camp on Tuesday felt like the premiere of a B movie. Beyond the coaches, Spaulding Field wasn’t a who’s who but a who’s that?
Look at the front of the new Bruin media guide. It’s No. 93 and No. 86, or – let me dig up my numerical roster - Harwell and tight end Logan Paulsen.
Harwell and Logan are both on preseason watch list for national awards at their respective positions. Harwell, the player Neuheisel (above) brought with him to last month’s Pac-10 media day, has emerged as an early “star” more on his personality than his recent performance. Harwell missed the final 11 games of last season because of a knee injury and received a medical hardship redshirt so that he could return for a fifth year.
Outside of the football team, nobody knows who the Bruins are or how good – if at all – they will be.
“There are a lot of question marks but we think we can win,” said senior center Micah Reed. “We’re hopefully going to surprise some people.”
Like on Halloween, maybe.
We should give this troll a piece of our mind in her comments.
She is horrible.
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of BruinsNation's (BN) editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of BN's editors.

I tried to make snarky comments
on a few posts, but they haven’t gone through. The Register must be filtering comments like crazy, because I’m sure I’m not the only who doesn’t like the blog. I hope they shut the “UCLA Blog” down, because all of the ‘writers’ are terrible journalists who have no clue what they’re doing.

What a waste of oxygen
I made some comments, doubt they’ll get published though. These morons don’t understand the point of a blog, do they. Monitoring posts is not meant for censorship! They should change their name to The Orange County Doesnotregister.

And furthermore
I know, I’m going to sound like a conspiracy theorist once again…but have you noticed the pictures of Ben Olson and Josh Shipp on the banner? Not exactly flattering, are they.

Marcia who?
Isn’t that the real question?
Geez, I’m gone for July, and this “talent” shows up. I know that the legacy media is desperate to add bloggers, but they’ve got to be able to do better than this.

What's scary ...
... is that she used to be the UCLA beat write during Lavin era IIRC.
bluestreet is right. She is horrible.

I'm glad she wrote this crap
I hope CRN takes a copy of this “article” written by this “journalist” and tapes it to every guy’s locker.
Talk about the definition of stupid-ass bulletin-board material comments.
She’s a total moron. I guess if this whole passing the bar thing works out, I could always be a journalist for an LA newspaper. Apparently, from her work, it only requires two functioning brain cells.

There we go
I’m already working like a LA MSM “journalist” by leaving out key words!
I meant to say “if this whole passing the bar thing doesn’t work out.”
The negative was a bit important, but hey, on this rate, soon I’ll be writing just like Bill Plaschke and running my fat, uninformed mouth on Around the Horn! Excellent!

Plaschke
Well you got it down there with three straight one line paragraphs! :-)

LA Times, here I come!
Well, let’s give this Bill Plaschke writing thing a shot:
Not a lot of people expect the Bruins to do much this year.
People say they have problems at offensive line.
The critics say they have a fragile quarterback who has been nothing but a bust.
Haters from Washington to Heritage Hall are eagerly awaiting Neuheisel’s next slip up.
But I like these Bruins.
They’re scrappy. They play with heart. No one believes in them but themselves. They’re a dangerous and hungry underdog.
There we go. I think I used every tired-ass sports metaphor I could fit into all those one-sentence paragraphs. Someone copy-paste this post and send it to Bill. Tell him no charge. I don’t mind writing half of one of his columns for him.

The problem with the OC register is that I never subscribed
Therefore, I can’t cancel my membership. What a bummer.
One piece of advice for those trying to get a comment pushed through the filtering process. Use polysyllabic words, or figures of speech that require an actual education to understand. Something like “Dear OC Register: Your decision to assign Marcia Brady or whatever her name is to cover UCLA shows all the insight of ….” Now you have to put in a figure of speech that they just will not get. Something like the decision of Lars Porsena of Clusium to send his troops against Horatius at the bridge across the Tiber. Or even more obscure, like the ncaa’s penetrating investigation of justsc and bu$h.

What do you expect
From the Orange County Register? Don’t they have a John Wayne airport in Orange County? Didn’t John Wayne go to $C? I would venture into that territory to confirm these facts if they didn’t stop me at the border to make sure my hair is above my collar. As it stands, every time I try they kick me out with the words “Don’t ever come back hippy!”
I would be amazed if they ever had anything but bad things to say about UCLA and good about The University of Orange County at South Central.

a bit too far
Orange County has nothing to do with it. LA Times has its share of poor UCLA reporting. Besides, Orange County is great, I am a proud representative of UCLA and Orange County. It is much more affordable in the OC (yes it is true, I just moved from Westwood to Westminster since I just graduated) and its less crowded with pretty much all the same amenities. Bruins are smart enough to know that one subpar reporter does not represent an entire county.

You're right
but hyperbole is more fun to write and (I hope) read. By the way, they don’t really stop me at the L.A./O.C. border, I made that up. Cheers!

Can we just ignore her?
It is pretty obvious that she wants to be the next Streeter. 2 utterly pathetic & posers for Journalists. They do this for the hits to their site. Lets just mute them out and not even dedicate a post to her. She is insignificant.
