one of the big problems with short routes – if a complete pass only gets you 4 yards, you have to complete all 3 in a row every series to move the chains. we just don’t appear to be capable of that kind of consistency right now. and we haven’t shown much promise at throwing further downfield.

Perez is our only standout player and he isn’t getting the support he needs to look good.

Throwing the ball is the only way they can give this away. Run the ball, run clock, and shorten the game.

The running game looked better. The defense was better.

Our gunners absolutely suck. We have a full-time special teams coach, but our coverage teams have been very bad this season

we have to try to keep games low scoring, because we sure aren’t going to be putting up 30 points a game. In order to do that, we have to establish the run to control the ball and the clock and make the game short. That falls on the O line. I hate the 3 yard slant pass. You gotta connect on every one of them to control the game, and we just can’t do that well enough right now.

Just wondering if getting another QB some snaps would be a good idea

Well, this doesn’t make my Saturday afternoon any fun. At least I’ll get to go to the Rose Bowl next weekend to root the Blue and Gold on.

this was the first game I got to watch this year. Not the result we were looking for, but I’d rather be a Bruin than a Wildcat today, tomorrow, and every other day for the rest of eternity. Thanks for hanging in there to the end. It’s gonna be a long road this year, and maybe for another year or two after that, but I still have hope for the future, and that’s something I didn’t have the last few years.
