Here's to a healthy, monster of a season for the face of UCLA Basketball 2008-2009--Darren Collison. This team is a team--Holiday will only make DC better and vice versa.

That Article

is almost funny, really. Jrue is so good that that it will somehow make Collison not as good as he has been for three previous years? That is fascinating logic. Let’s save that one so we can laugh again, louder, after the season starts.

Holy smokes I cannot wait for this!

minutes

could be that jrue is so good that he steals minutes away from Collison, or forces Collison into a role that doesn’t best display his skills. I’m not commenting on its likelihood, though it is a possible outcome.

It could be similar to Mata vs. Love. The younger, more talented freshmen got minutes over the experienced senior.

Understood, but...

…not sure I would compare Mata/Love to Collison/Holiday.

Collison

I am a huge DC fan and I bet stuff like this will only make him work harder. I can’t WAIT to see them play together and they will only make each other better!

38 days to go…

2 Guards

that have high basketball IQ’s who can both score canNOT be such a bad thing (think Farmar/Afflalo with better passing skills and more explosiveness). Plus, from what I’ve seen of Holiday in the various All-Star games he is a very unselfish player when he has talent around him. Add to this DC’s leadership skills and maturity, I think DC will be just fine. Anyhoo, I recall alot of people being shocked but not in disagreement with DC’s decision to come back. He was really exposed by the taller Memphis guards so I think a year more was actually the best move he could make. I actually thought the same thing about Westbrook but hey, you strike while the iron is hot (which it was NOT for DC after the Final Four). I’ll tell you what: I’d pay to see practices where Collison is assigned to guard Holiday.
