Classy
Again, as a relative newcomer to all this football business, to me CRN comes across as just a really genuine guy, and a long way from the man about whom all the dirt and slurs were carted out against at the start of the year.
Going on his conduct since taking the job and in interviews such as this, comparisons made by several people on BN between himself and Howland seem to be well deserved personality-wise, and hopefully in a few years (or perhaps sooner!) they will be deserved results-wise too. It’s will certainly be interesting…

Hey Irish
Do you live in Dublin? And do you get to watch any of our games?
What made you become a Bruin? Apologize if you have already shared this story but I would love to know.

No problem Nestor...
I do live in Dublin, born and bred, and still studying here. I got the chance to go to UCLA for a year during my undergrad on an exchange program (EAP) for a year in 05-06 and had a truly unforgettable time.
I didn’t really take to the whole American Football thing while I was there, despite the Bruins having a pretty decent season. It was all a bit stop-start and very strange to me. I found myself watching a lot of Basketball though, and the excitement of the March Madness tournament that I had never even heard of before, combined with the insanity of a certain game against Gonzaga, sealed the deal. I’ve been a proud Bruin ever since, and BN has kept me in the loop since I’ve been home, for which I shall be forever grateful to you all.
That’s it really, I’d love to make it back over to Westwood (or indeed CA) for a few years again, but I’m committed to a PhD here now so alas it won’t be for a while!

UCLA Family
Isn’t it amazing that once you experienced UCLA life, that it never leaves you? I was 12 yrs. old living in Washington State when I heard about Gary Beban. I have been a Bruin before I attended UCLA and continue to be decades later after graduation.
