Wouldn’t the proper response have been, “Except Oregon State …”

All game long they fawned over sc and pc.

They insulted us, too, when they said something like “sc only loses the little games, Stanford, UCLA and Oregon State”.

Tools.

If they can conjure wins and titles out of thin air, surely they can banish a measly little loss to Oregon State the same way.

Meeting up with a friend that is due any day now.

But watching the “highlights” later on, I heard him say that and screamed at the TV “OREGON STATE!!!”

During his press conference, he went as far as to say that he wanted to get a penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct after his sideline was warned after excessive sideline celebrations on the field. Cheaty said that the only reason they didn’t get one was because he forgot to tell his team to get back on the field to celebrate after they got warned. In his moment of arrogance he claimed that he was doing that because he wanted to get penalized for “having too much fun.” The only thing that was good about that game was when the referee indicated that “southern cal” called a timeout; the u$c “fan” responded in anger at the ref for calling them southern cal. It was great to hear that from the ref.

But it was 1-1-2009 when Carroll made that statement.

Herbstreit was fawning over South Central and made a comment along that lines that “Boy, after a game like this, You have to wonder who would in if they were faced with the winner of the National Championship game.” Refering, of course to the idea of the Plus One system.

I’m sitting there thinking, why? Did they play Texas? Alabama? Texas Tech? Any of these schools would have as much right to play for a national championship. How quickly they forget just how poor a resume they really have. They have a great defense, OK, I get it. But, who have they played? There is a reason they never got higher than 5th in the rankings after their loss to Oregon State.

“If your aunt had balls she’d be your uncle.”

I guess it translates to: If pc had balls he’d be ……?

or if he had balls he’d stop whining — accept that his team accomplished a lot but was not qualified to play in the big bowl.

BCS DECLARES GERMANY WINNER OF WORLD WAR II: USA Ranked 4th


After determining the Big-12 championship game participants the BCS
computers were put to work on other major contests and today the BCS
declared Germany to be the winner of World War II.

"Germany put together an incredible number of victories beginning with
the annexation of Austria and the Sudetenland and continuing on into
conference play with defeats of Poland, France, Norway, Sweden, Denmark,
Belgium and the Netherlands. Their only losses came against the US and
Russia; however considering their entire body of work—including an
incredibly tough Strength of Schedule—our computers deemed them worthy
of the #1 ranking."

Questioned about the #4 ranking of the United States the BCS commissioner
stated "The US only had two major victories—Japan and Germany. The
computer models, unlike humans, aren’t influenced by head-to-head
contests—they consider each contest to be only a single,
equally-weighted event."

German Chancellor Adolph Hitter said "Yes, we lost to the US; but we
defeated #2 ranked France in only 6 weeks." Herr Hitler has been
criticized for seeking dramatic victories to earn ‘style points’ to
enhance Germany’s rankings. Hitler protested "Our contest with Poland was
in doubt until the final day and the conditions in Norway were incredibly
challenging and demanded the application of additional forces."

The French ranking has also come under scrutiny. The BCS commented "
France had a single loss against Germany and following a preseason #1
ranking they only fell to #2."

Japan was ranked #3 with victories including Korea, Manchuria, Borneo,
Taiwan, Viet-nam, and the Philippines.
