SC will NOT beat Florida

This whole "oh-SC-will-beat-the-Gators" nonsense should stop.

I just found this article

It's written by Pete Fiutak, which I've never heard of, but nonetheless he puts the argument to rest and crowns Florida as no. 1. For the 'SC apologists he wrote:

If anyone out there actually bothered to watch the 17-10 win over Arizona, the 17-3 win over Cal, the 28-7 win over UCLA, the Oregon State loss, and also watched the entire Florida season, and yet still wants to make a case that USC is the best team in the country based on speed, talent, and any other measure, then again, can't help you. If you want to thump your chest over shutting down Arizona State, Washington State, Washington and Notre Dame, and you want to compare that to beating 10 bowl teams and two No. 1s including an Oklahoma offense that scored over 700 points ... yeah. You know.

Nothing new for us...

Fuitak . . .

covers College Football for NFL Network. He may also blog on the topic, but personally I can’t remember a College Football Now that didn’t feature him prominently.

couldn't agree more

SUC is overrated this year and every other year. every year year they just prance to the Rose Bowl and beat up on a Big Ten team. they do this every freakin year and the media loves them for it. with all the talent they get, that’s what they SHOULD be doing. actually, what they SHOULD be doing is winning championships, not losing to Oregon State, Stanford and UCLA as heavy favorites.

CA, TX and FL are the 3 states that are known to have a huge pool of talent. Texas has to compete with OU for recruits. Florida has to compete with Florida State and Miami for recruits. SUC, since cheaty petey got there, has had to compete with no one. UCLA’s finally giving them some competition with CRN now at the helm. but SUC’s been able to hand pick all the talent out of So Cal. and they haven’t won a title since Norm Chow left. cheaty petey is definitely not a coach that does more with less. he does average with more.

Of Course They Wouldn't

They probably wouldn’t beat Oklahoma, either. I doubt even Petie actually believed they “could beat anyone,” it’s just part of his relentless self-promotion. Interesting to see a few more MSM types calling him on it, though

2nd best team in the west

It there was a regional type of playoff system, suc wouldn’t even make it out of the west. Utah would win hands down. I think suc would lose a rematch with Oregon State and I think that BYU and Boise State would be pretty even matches.
