Stan Hasiak Decommits, Goes to Cal
I have to say this was definitely a surprise, Hasiak decommits and goes to Cal.
Was first reported by Dohn, knew he was a soft verbal but thought that with CRN travelling all the way to Canada to secure his commitment, he would stay with us.
From the Post:
In talking to a few of my sources, the news of Kapolei (Hawaii) offensive lineman Stan Hasiak changing his commitment from UCLA to Cal has come as a surprise.
Less than a week ago Bruins coach Rick Neuheisel and offensive line coach Bob Palcic visited with Hasiak and members of his family in Canada, and I heard the feeling was they sealed the deal with him.
I'm not sure if UCLA is going to go back and try to recruit him or not, or if they are going to wash their hands of him after this decision.
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of BruinsNation's (BN) editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of BN's editors.

Better Cal than South Central.

It's Not Nice to Fool With An Old Man's Mind
Ok, I’m not the brightest bulb on the tree, but didn’t we have a long thread about this up this afternoon, or did I dream the whole thing up when I fell asleep after my warm milk and honey?
sjh
i think the thread
was on BlueReign’s recruiting overlook post. I think…i was a bit confused too and i have a young mind. so don’t feel too bad 66

No, it existed
And now it doesn’t. Let’s just say that cal fans share more in common with SUC fans than they think they do. Since they’ve made it clear that they obsess with BN like a freaky stalker ex-girlfriend (mess with the community and start pointless flame wars), the only option was to take out a restraining order (DELETE F-ING EVERYTHING).
It’s amusing how the hate flows one way. I don’t give a rats ass about Cal. Maybe their hate is a desperate cry for attention? Who knows. It’s sad. And funny :-)
oh yeah...
now i remember that other post…

For sure
My disdain for cal fans is only surpassed by sucsters. The past 2 years against them, I’ve almost had to jump in the Octagon. 2 years ago, a kid yelled “Kick him in the ribs” when Taylor suffered his concussion. When I turned around and told him that this was not cool, I was told to F’off. I told him to shut it before I give him a beatdown. Next thing you know, 5 rows stand up against me & my buddy. Lots of talkin’ but no action. Probably the best for all parties. Oh…and when ATV took the INT to the house, the 5 rows behind me were completely empty. They were already heading down the aisle. :D
I go to the game with both UCLA and cal fans. The cal fans are a bit older so they know and appreciate what they have in Tedford and from where their program came from. These younger fans are such morons. All game long they yell for Tedford to get fired. If only they would educate themselves a bit about their history. Also, if you compare cal and UCLA, there really isn’t much difference in what our respective programs have accomplished in the past half decade. Accomplish something before you start tooting your own horn. To me, they’re that awkward kid in HS that you run into years later who thinks he’s a Mack Daddy. Nobody cares. For sure, nobody here at BN.
I haven’t missed a Cal home game since November 2006. And I haven’t heard anyone complain about Tedford once.

what tha hell?!
why do we keep losing linemen. we lost hamani stevens to oregon last year and now hasiak to cal. this blows!
I think that we will be just fine.
Did you really expect that we would be landing top-recruits right away? If that was the case, then you have a seriously Bruin-centric mindset that ignores the fact that other schools likewise have great coaches, programs, facilities, etc etc.
You win some, you lose some. Cheer up! It’s a great time to be a Bruin.

please don’t mistake me for someone who knows absolutely nothing about football and recruiting, and can only see our 4-8 record last year. i fully expected a rebuilding year and i fully expected CRN to take 3-4 years to turn the program around. i am not at all disappointed with our 4-8 record and i am not at all disappointed with the top 20 recruiting class CRN pulled in last year. and i’m definitely not disappointed that CRN and staff were able to pull Morrell Pressley from SUC.
but i firmly believe that football is won in the trenches. great offense and defense start up front. so seeing that we already have a lack of talent and depth on our O-line, losing 4-star lineman like stevens and hasiak is disappointing. that’s not to say that i feel that CRN should be pulling in #1 recruiting classes or that CRN should be winning every recruiting battle.
anyways, i love what CRN has done up to this point and i’m relentlessly optimistic about the future of UCLA’s football program. so don’t worry about me. no cheering up needed here.
My apologies,
to me your original comment came off as typical want-it-all whining. Glad to know that was not the case.
