AT staying! Sanchez on the way out?
Glad to read that the Daily News is reporting that AV is staying at UCLA for his senior year. This is great news. I love the guy, and have always loved him since he arrived at UCLA. Next year, he will be a "shut-down" corner, maybe one of the best in the country. On the other side, we have some great youngsters (Dye, Hester, and others) competing for that spot, and it will be a battle in the spring, right up until the opening game. To be honest, that other side of the ball will be much improved next year. Our secondary will be tight next year, with Moore solidifying the safety position with a great frosh campaign. With Reggie coming back, Price in the middle, as well as the Bosworth's, I really think this defense has a chance to be one of the best in the Pac-10. Without AV, it would have been hard. Thanks AV, we love the fact you are staying.
Also, just as a note...........Scott Wolf (SUC beat guy) reported on his blog that word around South Central is that Sanchez is going to announce either tomorrow or Thursday that he is turning pro. That is great newws. Whether you think he is great or not (much debate), it is always nice when your rival has to break in a new QB. Because they have a new offensive staff, having Sanchez around would have solidified things. Breaking in a new QB will not be easy for them.
Regarding Hasiak, something tells me we got a great shot. I saw a quote from him saying the "UCLA campus is alot nicer than Cal's" and he "loved UCLA". Apparently he thinks we are a few years away from competing for the PAC-10 title, and thinks Cal is ahead of our program right now......which it is. Something tells me CRN may be able to revive the image to Stan and sell him on coming to Westwood. If not, we'll move on and wish him well. I have faith that we'll make our best effort.

Sanchez may not be smart, but he's no dummy.
The word around the news desk at work is that Sanchez would jump early if Bradford, McCoy, and Tebow stayed in school. This would shoot him up the draft board due to a lack of competition. I know Tebow already announced he was coming back. Don’t know about the other two, but Sanchez must know something we don’t .
That is, he has no idea who this John Morton fellow is either! snicker

McCoy
said that he was staying. Bradford is likely gone so if Dirty leaves, he’ll battle Bradford and Stafford for the top spot.

Bradford is staying
so this decision makes even more sense. He’ll likely be the second QB taken after Stafford.

Slightly OT -- DC Position
Does anyone think that the DC of choice is probably coaching one of the NFL teams that remain in the playoffs, and probably with the Ravens? If so, who might that person be?

Yep
My guess he has the intials MC but I could be totally wrong. My gut tells me we will end up with Bullough which is fine with me too.

N, it's statements like this which show why you'll never be a Big Time Journalist With Access like Doh!.
You say you’re guessing and you don’t know. He says he knows for sure and won’t tell. When the announcement is finally made, do you think Doh! will say he was totally shocked? Of course not. He’ll say he really wishes he could have told us earlier, but he couldn’t.
I think you should delete your own post and re-write it. You want to say that you really know, but you just can’t tell us. Then even if a certain basketball maven named CHP gets brought in to be our defensive coordinator, you can say you knew this for a fact and really wanted to tell us, but you just couldn’t. Or just watch how Doh! handles it.
