I’m more disappointed in myself than I am in you, Silver. I can’t understand how I’ve failed so completely. You have quoted Doh! as a knowledgeable source. I thought I had gotten the message out.

Silver, Doh! is not a credible source, in my opinion. He claims to have information from “sources,” but he never tells who those “sources” are. His “sources” had Coach Walker going to the University of Washington, and as we now know that did not happen. He has had similar “scoops” on just about a daily basis. He stated a week or so ago that he KNEW who was going to be named as Defensive Coordinator, but, alas, “I Can’t Tell You.” Now reason this out on that last claim. Only one guy knows for sure who Coach Neuheisel wants as DC, and that’s Coach Neuheisel. Only two guys know for sure if a job offer has been made, and that is the guy who made the offer and the guy who got the offer. Would Coach Neuheisel make an offer, and then quickly call Doh! and tell him that he had just offered the job to Joe Blow? Is that a likely scenario? Would the guy getting the offer do anything like that? Obviously not. Doh! has to be making that stuff up. Now we all can have our opinions or our predictions as to who will be named DC, and so can Doh!. But he peddles his predictions from his fictional sources as fact, and that’s what separates him from legitimacy and integrity, in my opinion.

As I said, I’m so sorry that I didn’t bring you up better. This isn’t your fault. Really, it’s my fault. It’s all our fault. We didn’t get the message out to you. But don’t despair. Keep plugging. You’ll be able to wean yourself from citing Doh! as an authority on anything. Keep this in mind – you don’t have to actually say who it is who assert that one particular person is the leading candidate. Just do what Doh! does. Just say “My sources tell me that Bullough is the leader.” Your ssources are just as good as Doh!’s.
