I find it very disconcerting
that South Central is suddenly in the mix. I do recall that USC jumped in about a month ago. But, IIRC he’s been somebody we’ve been after for some time now. I understand the nature of high stakes recruiting, but for them to rise this high this quickly . . . well, let’s just say OJ got a Flat Screen Plasma, Jarred got free rent, and Reggie got a house.

He's spoken highly of Norton
so I think SC is the leader right now, but I thought BYU was the leader before so what do I know.

Maybe
Maybe he is keeping us in there because he really likes Neuheisel but wants to see who he brings in for the defensive coach(es). It speaks volumes (and is intriguing) that despite not having a coordinator we are still in the mix. Maybe if Coach Neu seals up a great hire before the deadline we also have a shot at sealing up Te’o? Any thoughts?

I agree
that the Bruins need to hire a great and well known DC before the 4th to have a chance with a recruit such as Te’o. Let’s face it, Carroll can coach defense and the Bruins need a Chow-like hire for DC to be able to compete for the elite, NFL-ready recruits.
Having said that, I am amazed that UCLA, coming off an atrocious season and a couple seasons away from competing for the conference championship, is able to seriously recruit such top-notch players. It just speaks volumes for CRN’s character, personality and pervasiveness. Keep it up coach!

If we are in there, its probably because of Chow
and his relationship to Hawaii high school football, and LDS players.

According to
a very reliable friend of mine who knows people within SUC, Te’o is supposedly a silent commit to them and is a lock to go to South Central. I pray he changes his mind, but apparently they have been assured that he will be going to SUC. It is disappointing cause you would think with Chow’s connections to the school, and with Hilliard and Toma on board, CRN would of had a better shot. I just think until we start winning (hopefully next year) and the 5-star recruits can see the vision that the rest of us see, then it’ll be an uphill climb to get guys like Te’o. It’ll take a special kind of kid (Farmar, Afflalo) that is mature beyond their years and wants to be in on the ground floor of a great rebuilding project. Regardless of Te’o, I think we have some of those types of guys in this class. Cheaty Petey can keep getting them and the Emmanuel Moody’s, Allen Bradford’s, Vidal Hazelton’s………need I go on, will come to the realization that their are better places for them. On a last note, Kennard committed to USC today, and said it was because of the competetive atmosphere. Can we just end all that talk. Most good programs have competetive atmosphere’s. Like SUC is the only one? Florida, LSU, Oklahoma…..they all have players and coaches who compete and work their butts off each and every day. Can we just end that talk, like SUC is the only one. CRN is bringing that competetive atmosphere back to Westwood, and our guys will forever compete and work their tails off as hard as anyone at SUC.

i fear
you may be right. the unfortunate thing is the cheater tells these mormon kids that he will welcome them back after serving their mission but i really doubt it. as soon as uona signed he started singing a different tune. if te’o means to serve after his freshman yr, i think he’s gonna get the same treatment. don’t be shocked if he ends up at byu or hawaii in 3 yrs.
and as far as the competitive atmosphere there, ya sure, too bad they don’t know that really means the cheater will compete to keep them from turning pro before their 5th yr
