I am not a Budinger fan, but what happens here is just wrong. The Houston player was ejected but you can see towards the end of the video he was getting high fives from his teammates. Stay classy, Houston.

It’s a reflection of their douchebag coach. This is the same guy that was whining years ago about not getting a UCLA-Houston matchup to allegedly “commemorate” the game years ago and started to call out Howland for it. The guy is a self-serving worm and the Houston player should be suspended by the league for his actions.

Dave Libby would have called a technical on CBuds face

for getting in the way of the houston players foot.

This incident is a complete outrage.

Not only was the actual act of intentionally stepping on another human being’s face despicable, but the smiling and high-fiving, as well as the post-game comments are totally inexcusable. I will be writing an e-mail to the commissioner of C-USA and the University of Houston demanding a suspension. This goes against the spirit of college athletics, and it should not be tolerated.

1 Game Suspension and Written Apology -- Ho Hum

Just read in the Houston Chronicle that the school and player have issued apologies and the player has been suspended for one game (which is mandatory for any flagrant foul).

So, in other words, business as usual.

And, no discipline for any of the team mates who “celebrated” the bad sportsmanship.

I’ve got an acquaintance who is an ex-Houston player and tightly tied to the program. The next time I see him I’m going to let him know how poorly this reflects on Houston.
