Updated ESPN Bracketology
ESPN's Joe Lunardi now projects UCLA to be a seven seed in the Midwest Region of the tournament.
At the moment, we have an RPI of 40. Against teams that Lunardi projects to reach the tournament, our record is 0-4 (the losses coming against Arizona State, Michigan, Texas and Washington). Not counting whoever we might face in the Pac-10 tournament, we have five games remaining against the projected tournament field (at Arizona State, a home-and-away with Cal, home against Notre Dame and home against Washington).
Lunardi predicts that four Pac-10 teams will reach the tournament. The highest projected Pac-10 seed is ASU as a four. In addition he lists Cal as a six and Washington as an eight. USC is included in his "first four out" of the field.
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of BruinsNation's (BN) editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of BN's editors.

I'm not really sure
What makes Lunardi qualified to be a sports ‘bracketologist’
He’s worse than Mel Kiper.
And he usually has most things wrong by the end of the season. What a hoot from the Eastern Sports Propaganda Network.
IIRC
He actually has a pretty good record concerning getting the correct teams in and pretty close to the correct seeds. He does his bracketology up to the minute and not what he predicts the end of the season may look like.

I relent!
After some research, apparently he has gotten nearly all of the At-Large teams correct since 1998, and last year had the 65 tournament teams correct.
I still don’t like Mel Kiper though…. :P
Eh...
Yeah, Lunardi always brags about being so many teams off from the actual field every year with his predictions…but the truth is that it’s not too difficult to pick most of the at-large teams correctly, and be 0-2 seeds off for most or all of them. I believe Lunardi’s predictions are average when compared to others.
