MORONS
Just read the first three letters the LAT cherry picked for publication. The letters are so dumb that they are not worthy of a detailed response. It's pretty clear the LAT is set on weaving a negative narrative v. Coach Howland. GO BRUINS.

you know...
if people want to be that ignorant and stupid, then I say let them. If they can’t appreciate 3 Final Fours and everything else Howland has done here in the last 4-5 years then they can head over to South Central and complain about SC’s lack of national championships in football.
We’ve covered time and time again here on BN how we have the MOST EFFICIENT OFFENSE in the country. There’s no disputing those facts. Sure, I wish we had an easier time scoring in late game situations, but a lot of that is because we don’t have the pure scorers we used to have in AA, JF, KL, etc. All we really have is DC – and a few good scorers that need to take more of the load.
But I honestly stopped being bothered by this after the ASU loss. Even though the comparisons of CBH to Dorrell are beyond stupid, I’m pretty confident CBH knows that TRUE Bruin fans will always have his back for what he did with this program after the joke that was Lavin left town. And I would almost guarantee that Guerrero has his back as well. And that’s all that really matters

What is infuriating
is the LAT giving these morons a forum to spew bile like that. I will see if I can do a stand alone post specifically calling out the LAT again but I wanted to flag this right away.
I doubt any of the idiots in that letter were UCLA basketball fans three years ago. They probably root for SuC football team too.

If this infuriates you this much
A rebuttal is needed. I’ve often thought the LAT gets away with as much as it does because there is no one to hold them accountable. Right a letter, with the stats we’ve gone through here and patiently explain to them the reality of the situtation.
Make sure to go slow and use small words, though. You don’t want to lose your audience.

it is like Dorrell
remember, Dorrell took us to the BCS bowl games 3 times, and we were even in the national championship during one of those years. Oh wait, that never happened?
I think we all know that the LAT will publish whatever it needs to elicit a response from someone. They can’t keep talking about our stifling defense, so they resort to publishing letters like this. What can you do?
Im with Mexi, a rebuttal is probably needed.

i thought the same thing....
definitely not reflective of the majority or core bruin base. morons is the perfect phrasing. to top it off the final letter referred to sarkisian’s recruiting violations and said something like- he must’ve found neusheisel’s recruiting manual, um more like he was taught to break rules by the cheater himself, duh

While you're at it, ask them a couple of questions for me
You might point out that I cancelled my subscription before probably everyone on staff there was born, so I’m a little behind.
First, are they doing a weekly update on bu$hgate? If so, what have their investigative journalists found out?
Second, what’s the latest on the OJ2 SCandal? I’m sure they’re using their unlimited access to Inheritance Hall to get deeply into that.
Third, are there going to be pictures of the limo rides? Seems like all they need is to send a photographer to campus and there would be plenty of photo ops for that.
Fourth, what is the result of their investigation of White Nation?
I could ask about Jarrett, about the twins they recruited (Derozean and Little Romeo), about Senora Ross and things like that, but I’ll pass. I just want them to address those four, and also to explain why it is that in the entire world, the only person they could find to write the UCLA blog is a trOJie. (You might mention that I would be pleased to write the trOJie blog.)
They should answer those questions. After all, the fishwrap is loaded with integrity. Just like their editorial overseer, Cheatie Petie.
Now a question for you Bruins. Can you say you’re really surprised about anti-Bruin sentiment in the fishwrap? Are you surprised that they would do something that would take the focus off bu$h or OJ2?

No
and I think they choose the letters purposely to try to cause a riff in Westwood. They will do anything they can to try to rile people up in an effort to make CBH look bad (they know the stats) and try to downplay suc’s consistant missteps.
Bill Dwyer did have a decent article on CBH and the Bruins today which did repudiate the letters mentioned above.

F the Times
Those letters today were disgraceful and I would go a step beyond Nestor’s point and say that the authors of those letters are likely not even UCLA fans at all.
Here’s a little solace for everyone: the LAT is a dinosaur and it knows it. In the business section today is a little item about how they are laying off another 300 folks and consolidating the California (State and local news) section into the main page section. The paper has gotten thinner and thinner over the last year and I guarantee everyone here that the print copy of the paper will be extinct in our lifetime and probably within the next few years.
While I am never happy to see folks laid off, I feel no sadness for the demise of the paper itself. What was once an excellent paper is now turning into a thin piece of crap, from sports to everything else.
Let the rich Trojies who the paper sucks up to throw some of their money at it, if they want it to survive. But even they cannot save it.

I would like to think that I started the demise
when I cancelled my subscription so many years ago.

F the times indeed
I’m SO MAD at them for screwing up my accounts and claiming I owe them money for delivering newspapers to an address that I had not lived at for over two years, especially since I told them I moved. I’d love to say more, but it’s not resolved yet.

screw the LAT
my [former] SUC coworker is roomates with adam rose and all the facts that he gets from him are such garbage that I’ve come to the conclusion that any newspaper that would let such nonsense fly isn’t worth my time.
