Morrell Presley on campus
I'm a current student at UCLA and today is the first day of Winter Quarter. This afternoon, when I headed to my dorm, I was very glad to see Presley. He was with a woman, who I believe is his mother. His father was also there but was walking much ahead of them. They were leaving the hill where the dorms are, walking down Bruinwalk to campus. When I went to dinner at De Neve with my friends, he was also there having dinner with EJ Woods and another FB player. Didn't introduce myself (too timid), but it was great to really see him on his first official day as a UCLA student-athlete.

Presley looked outstanding at the Under Armour game
I’d only seen clips of him before and was excited about him, but now that I’ve seen him in a game, I’m psyched. He’ll be behind Moya, Paulsen and possibly Harkey on the TE depth chart, but I expect him to find the field anyways in a variety of roles. When you have a player that athletic, you can use him a number of ways and I have no doubt Chow will be creative with him.

how did Brehaut look? Can’t find a box score anywhere

Brehaut was less than impressive
He was inaccurate and didn’t move the ball well at all. He showed a strong arm and quick feet, but the production was not there. I read that he looked strong in practice so that’s good to hear, but in the game he struggled. I thought this prior to the game and the game only confirmed that he probably won’t start next year. He’s talented, but he’s only going to be a true freshman and expecting him to step in and win the starting job is a bit much. Let him redshirt then we’ll see how he’s developed those very good, but raw skills of his.

just a thought...
but it sounds as though Barkley played nearly the entire game. Maybe Brehaut just didn’t have a chance to find a rhythm. Everything I’ve heard said he was toe-to-toe with Barkley all week, so it’s too bad he couldn’t produce better. Thanks for the news rye.
On a similar note, I watched the Army AA game saturday, which Randell Carroll played in. That guy is an absolute blur, He didn’t have great stats, but i remember watching him with the ball once and being blown away. Legit 4.3 speed and really quick. He’d be a huge get if only to simply improve our team speed

Carroll really is a blur
I missed the Army AA game, but I’ve seen him before. What will be interesting to see is what position he plays wherever he goes. He keeps telling people he wants to be a receiver and he will do well there, but I think if he wants to play in the NFL, it will be as a cornerback.

I mentioned the stellar play of Presley and poor play of Brehaut above
In addition to those two, Hasiak and Toma participated. Toma didn’t make much of an impact in the game, but does have the skills challenge victory to hang his hat on. Hasiak look incredible in the game though. He was, IMO, the best offensive lineman out there. They threw a couple different pass rushers at him and none got within a sniff of the QB. He has no issues opening running lanes either. He’s still a soft verbal so we need to hang on to him, but if we do then we could very well have a future All-American on our hands.
