It happens all the time
For reasons unknown, officials never call the offensive facemask, even when it is this obvious.

It's in the rulebook
It’s a penalty, but they don’t call it. A lot of stiff arms result in facemasks, but how often do you see it called? I couldn’t tell you why they don’t call it, but they don’t.

I could've sworn
UCLA was called for it some time earlier this season, and it was the right call. I guess the trouble is that it’s called so rarely and inconsistently that it’s almost unfair to the offense when they do call it.
The other thing I notice in this picture is how much skinnier Price’s arms seem to be.

Last year against Cal
I remember we were called for “grasping the helmet” which I guess was the opposite of a facemask, but I believe that was on defense. Another strange call I’ve never seen before.

The announcer called it,
I forget which one. But he called it a bad non-call, and also mentioned that it is seldom called. Pretty much everything we are mentioning here.

I GUARAN-EFFIN'-TEE you
our player would’ve been called for a 15 yard personal foul had the situation been reversed.
Not only that, it would’ve been during a game winning drive, killing it and our chances for victory.
Not only that, our player, our best player, would’ve broken a finger in doing so, thereby losing him for 2-4 weeks.
