"I don't think that ever happened," Holiday said of never getting into a basketball game.

"It hurts down deep in your gut, man," coach Eddie Jordan said. "You've been playing and you're sitting there and you've prepared yourself for days, and you don't play. That's a heck of a feeling."

Give the kid a break...

People talk trash as if they themselves wouldn’t have declared for the NBA if they themselves were a guaranteed 1st round pick.

I didn’t take the article as him moaning but as him making adjustments to the NBA and how it isn’t what he’s used to. Quit trying to put a negative spin on it just because he left to the NBA for guaranteed millions instead of appeasing a bunch of UCLA fans who only care about their team. Jrue needs to continue doing what’s best for Jrue.

Eddie Jordan has always had an old school take on rookies

and doesn’t like to play them much. Going to play for Eddie Jordan is tough for any player and moreso for Jrue because he had only one year of college ball. I don’t think this really says much other than Eddie Jordan is who we thought he is (cue Dennis Green).

Eddie Jordan is a wacko

Obviously this isn’t the place to go into the shortcomings of a NBA coach in Philly, but this comment for why Jrue being prepared for the NBA, this comment is hilarious:

He went to college 1 year. So he’s a little bit more prepared in that regard.

Now I know CBH is good and that 1 year learning from him is probably equal to two playing for more player-friendly coaches, but Jordan is grasping at straws on this one.

Sorry, but I just don't get it.

Jrue said nothing negative or selfish and did nothing negative or selfish.

I really don’t get all the negativity toward him, here.

I don’t want to go back to last year — I’ve got a lot of posts on this topic — but I agree with EJ, and rye — give Jrue a break.

Not a big deal

At least not right now. If this becomes a pattern then it’s a problem, but there’s nothing wrong with a rookie wanting to play, especially in a preseason game when EVERYONE plays. If I were Jrue, I wouldn’t expect to see much floor time this year, and I hope he’s understands that quickly and doesn’t rub too many people the wrong way by continuously vocalizing his frustration.

Negative spin

I noticed last year people started talking negative about Kevin Love and he did good by us Bruins. Now its the same thing with Holiday and he didn’t even produce like Love. He was given the opportunity to make millions. As much as I love my alma, I would have done the same thing.

When LeBron James signed his $90M deal with Nike, I actually asked my parents what they thought if I were offered the same type of deal to ditch college. My dad (who handles all financial matters in our family) said “you take that. you can figure college out later.” Mom was opposed.

I know exactly what type of Lamborghini I’d be driving if it came to that.

Go Bruins!
