New Football Commitment. Kody Innes
I just saw that we got a commitment from Kody Innes, who is supposed to be a pretty good player out of Arizona. I have to be honest, I pride myself on knowing more than the average joe on recruiting and good prospects, but I do not know enough about Innes to give an opinion. I have never seen him play, nor do I know much about him. Are their any Bruins in Arizona who can shed some light on him? Any info. would be great. I do know that it is always great to steal a prospect out of a Pac-10 state, so that is a positive. Welcome to the Bruin family Kody.

From what I've heard from those who have seen him
He has really quick feet and has the frame to put on some good size. He’s a very projectable players, likely a tackle in the future, but he is raw. While his feet are quick and he has long arms, he’s not as fundamentally sound as other recruits are. He supposedly works very hard though so under Palcic’s tutelage, he should be able to turn into a good lineman.

Interesting
sounds a bit like Akeem Ayers.
Oh UCLA you sweet bitch, you've BRUINed me for anything else.

I noticed a headline at ESPN
about one of our recruits having a meeting with Michigan. But the story was behind a subscription firewall. Does anybody know who or what they are talking about?

Most likely Tony Jefferson
The safety committed to us a bit ago, but recently said he would take his visits, one of them to Michigan. He’ll also visit Florida and Miami, but as a guy who will graduate in December and enroll in college for the spring semester, he’ll have to decide quickly.

Yep
Jefferson is listed now as a “soft verbal” commit to UCLA . I hope I’m not reading too much into that.

Anyone who takes a visit to another school
after a commit is a “soft verbal” I believe. Not to say that you should or should not be concerned but I’m pretty sure that’s a documentation thing with scout.

Yep
He is one of our two silent commits.
As for Jefferson not surprising he is taking other visits. We always knew other schools are going to come after him hard. I think the real key competition for him will be the Florida schools because I hear his family is moving over there.

I hope Jefferson sticks
We lack a “physical presence” at the SS position. Love has the measureables but he plays too soft for my liking. Earnest Thomas has the size but he may never play in the secondary so I really hope Jefferson sticks. From what I’ve read, the guy does not shy away from contact. That is an element that has been missing from our defense and especially in the secondary.
Welcome to Westwood Innes.
