The #2 Bruins can beat anyone, that is anyone except for #1 Stanford. The Bruins lost their second game of the season on Saturday, their second to the Cardinal, as Stanford was able to overcome two goals by UCLA's Scott Davidson to beat the Bruins, 8-6, in Palo Alto. The following day, UCLA beat #11 Santa Clara, 11-5, despite falling behind 3-0  to improve their record to 10-2 with the UC Irvine Invitational on tap this weekend.

Women's Soccer

The week got off to a bad start for #3 UCLA as they found out that senior Kara Lang would be lost for the season due to a torn ACL. How do you bounce back from that? By beating Pepperdine, 2-0, to win your ninth straight straight game of course. Now 9-1-1, the Bruins will host the Arizona schools this Friday and Sunday to begin Pac-10 play.

Men's Soccer

Kyle Nakazawa continues to find the net as he scored three goals last week to stretch his scoring streak to six. In the #4 Bruins' first game of the week, which was also their first Pac-10 game of the year, they beat Oregon St., 3-1, in Corvallis behind a pair of Nakazawa goals and an assist by the senior. UCLA's second game of the week netted a result as the Bruins' drew with Washington, 1-1, with Nakazawa scoring the Bruins' lone goal. Now 6-1-1 and 1-0-1 in the Pac-10, UCLA will play at San Diego St. this week.

Women's Volleyball

Another split for the #16 Bruins as they returned home and lost their opener, before salvaging the week with a win. #11 Stanford did the Bruins in to begin their week, disposing of the Bruins in four sets. It was four sets again in UCLA's next match, but this time it went in their favor as they defeated #9 Cal at Pauley Pavilion. Can the Bruins (12-5, 2-2) stabilize themselves and get on a run? They'll have their chance on Friday with #13 USC visiting Pauley Pavilion.

Men's Golf

UCLA kicks off their fall season with The Prestige at PGA West in Rancho Mirage, CA this weekend.

Men's Tennis

The Bruins will begin their fall season with a trip to Tulsa for the ITA All-American Championships.

Women's Tennis

The women will continue competition in the ITA All-American Championships, but unlike the men, they stay home and will play at Riviera Country Club.
