Cal-UCLA Game Set For 12:30 PST Kickoff (ABC Regional)

I really hope some other combination besides David Norrie and Terry Gannon work this game. As mentioned on Sunday David Norrie is a joke.

I completely agree

Don’t get me wrong, I know he had an amazing football career at UCLA and in the pros, but hearing James Washington on a broadcast makes me embarrassed that he is representing UCLA.

I just didn't hear what you heard, Nestor

I remember at the end of the first half, Norrie talking about Neuheisel being one of the best clock managers in college football, and having had acquired that skill from Homer Smith during his days at UCLA.

I’ll admit that I didn’t hear the 2nd half of the game (went to a bar/grill and therefore no audio), but the 1st half seemed fine to me.

Compared to other UCLA alums

who have become broadcasters the way he doesn’t talk up his UCLA connections stands out pretty well. Also, he goes out of his way to appear to freaking impartial and then goes too far. He also has a terrible grasp of our personnel (which is pathetic since its clear he is not up to speed on the football program of his own alma mater). He sucks.

James will get better eventually

I like his passion for UCLA. I like his passion for being a Bruin. Perhaps he is not ready for being a prime time TV announcer yet and he needs to work on his skills on radio but for me I rather listen to his commentary colored in Bruin blue than the soul less crap coming out of Norrie.

None of the broadcasters bother me at all.

I don’t care who the announcers are. If the sound is off, they don’t really bug me.

If you know anything about football, you don’t need the announcer. If you don’t know anything about football and you’re in a crowd, get someone to explain what happened. If you don’t know anything about football and you’re alone, then (a) get a life, and (b) leave the sound off because the announcers will probably ruin it for you.
