BN Basketball Podcast, DC (#2) Open Thread
Well, the season is underway and the Bruins have two games under their belts. BruinHoo and I will discuss everything that has gone on in the opening two games tonight on our podcast that begins at 7 pm PST. We will also go through the schedule, assigning wins and losses to each game so we'll have a final record at the end that we expect from the Bruins this year. On top of that, we're going to discuss the 2010 recruiting class. What does UCLA have in its two commits, Tyler Lamb and Josh Smith, and who are the targets for the rest of the class. We'll also take a look at the scholarship situation so we can identify how many guys CBH plans on bringing in this year.
We'll also take any calls you have. You just need to follow these four steps:
1) Call (724) 444-7444
2) Enter the Call ID 68618 and press # afterward
3) When asked for your PIN, press 1#
4) Talk to us!
Call on in and share your thoughts and questions. If you can't call in, use this thread to share any thoughts or questions and we'll work them in as well. You can listen to the show live beginning at 7 pm PST by clicking play in the box above and can listen to it anytime after the show by clicking that same play button or by heading over to iTunes. This is the BN basketball podcast open thread.
Also, remember that tomorrow (Thursday) at 7 pm PST, we have the football podcast where we can discuss a win! We'll have everything you want regarding UCLA football and Nuss from CougCenter will join us to preview Washington St. for Saturday. The box below can be used for the football podcast (we will also have a new thread up for it tomorrow night) and you can call in for that show too by following the same instructions as listed above for the basketball podcast, but 65238# is the Call ID. Two days, two podcasts, all Bruins!

I think Sendek and Co.
Make things tough, but I’m not sure they have the go to guy to win close games or the ability on the fast break.

Based on what we saw the first two exhibition games....
I’d take 18-9 right now. What do you guys think the NCAA seed is in that scenario. I would guess Cal, Washington are looking at 2-4 seed area and UCLA perhaps 6/7
Guys did you talk about?
Mins breakdown between ND-JK? I think how CBH allocation mins at 4 between those 2 will be very interesting in the coming days.
Call in nes!
They’ll take your call!
There's no one in the world that wants to beat UCLA more than _______.
Yep agree with JK getting a little more mins
I think it all depends on ND’s shooting.
The signs I saw from JK in last two games was encouraging. He looked lot more fluid than I have seen him in previous years.
ya
but still, the perimeter threat isnt there without the "let’s just see" gunner
There's no one in the world that wants to beat UCLA more than _______.
Exactly. JK brings more intensity on D than ND does.
He provides a more controlled defensive intensity.

DG - still has to keep his guy up front
same goes for rest of our team I guess. But DG looked a little better in second half last night. That was encouraging.
I am enjoying this podcast guys.

There's no one in the world that wants to beat UCLA more than _______.
Good idea to delay that a week
We all know about Mr. Smith. Their will be more concrete info. next week, as opposed to just speculating now. Make sure to cover Point Guard prospects if possible.

Recruiting, and (ideally) a look at our roster
Recruiting note: Josh Smith did not sign an LOI today; delay is believed to be due to setting up a signing ceremony at his school, no issue re. his commitment.
When you guys discuss recruiting
I think interesting angle to discuss would be contingency plans in case McCallum and Zieglar decide to go somewhere else.
