Timmeh to coach DC in New Orleans
The Hornets have fired Byron Scott, whom the team pretty much quit on last year but they kept around for financial reasons. Timmeh somehow managed to put his lack of coaching abilities and ability to break up fights into a top assistant position with the Hornets. Hopefully he will use DC better than Scott was as there was no reason for DC to be playing behind Bobby Brown of all people.

I can't imagine how this could go wrong...
1998-99 NBA CHI 13 37 .260
1999-00 NBA CHI 17 65 .207
2000-01 NBA CHI 15 67 .183
2001-02 NBA CHI 4 21 .160
2003-04 NBA NOH 41 41 .500
…Oh wait…
They probably saw his fine work at SUC giving OJ free reign to do whatever he wanted on offense any time. He’s lucky to have a PG who may actually make that “strategy” work in Chris Paul.
Come on guys, it's a smart move.
Timmeh knows he can go in there and learn a great deal from DC. While taking a demotion in title, he’s busy preparing for any future by learning from a seasoned and well trained warrior.

I was thinking the same ting
It’s like a tribal punishment — sent off to learn from a wise one.

Gee
Now, that Timmeh will be easy to find on any given night, maybe some fearless reporter (or someone from the NCAA) will ask him this simple and direct yes or no question:
Did you give money to one of OJ Payo’s handlers? Yes or no?
Has there been fighting in the locker room?
If so, they got the right guy to break them up.

oops
I just did a fan post on this too, but I guess I was a few hours late (so i deleted it). Anyway, I think this is just sad. The only good thing that can come from this is that Timmeh will know what a stud DC is and give him more PT.
Jokes aside, you're exactly right about the "good thing"
As hard as it might be to believe, I think this is great news for Darren Collison. He was buried on the bench with Byron Scott at the helm. Now he will be coached by the GM who drafted him and an asst coach who is very familiar with what Darren can do for a team. As far as getting an opportunity to play goes, Collison couldn’t ask for a better combo than that.

Hmmm,
Initially, this news made me gag, but I was thinking about big Tim’s whiney comment about how he wanted players “like Darren Collison,” (who would, presumably, stick around for four years of USC basketball.)
Ironic, this. Yes, Tim could learn much from DC. My prediction is that DC will be gracious and classy, while Tim…not so much.

The Darren Collison era might be beginning soon
Chris Paul went down w/ an injury today (sprained ankle that I’m thinking he’s going to milk for as much time off as he can) and Darren Collison took over at point for the Hornets. He ended the game w/ 18 pts on 50% shooting, w/ 2 assists, 2 steals, and no turnovers. Not a bad start at all.

Damn!
I tried to catch that game, but was overruled by a bunch of squawking Jayhawks fans. Thanks, insommniac, for the good news.
