Nice to see

that full stadium full of fans sticking around cheering on their team regardless of the score. They are Trojies for life! All class!

Er, well, maybe not.

Hey Tele

If possible … anyway to shorten the screen so we can bump this and keep it on the home page tonight? Lot of folks I think will want to see this. LOL

Beautiful

Why is Petey so mad? Couldn’t he see Stanford was just “having fun”? Ha ha ha. What was more tremendous about this win was that Stanford didn’t trick them or beat them with some fluke plays. They just lined up and went straight at them and USC couldn’t take it.

wish i could make out what they’re saying there…

by s.riley on Nov 14, 2009 5:58 PM PST reply actions

While its always fun to watch USC lose...

we have to remember that this will only fire them up and they’ve got two weeks off before they place us. Let’s save the real trash talking for after we play them. That being said, silverlakebruin’s comment was one of my favorites.

by EJBruin on Nov 14, 2009 6:21 PM PST reply actions

Nah

We’ll do the same thing whenever they crumble.

by drebruin on Nov 14, 2009 11:14 PM PST up reply actions

Well, it'll be interesting..

..to say the least. It sure looks like The Condoms did not save their best play for the end of the season andyou can bet that video of this game is being torn apart by Neuheisel and his staff as we speak.

Who would not love to see UCLA win two and SC lose two and end up tied in the PAC-10 standings WITH IDENTICAL OVERALL SEASON RECORDS?

..well, Petey for one, but you know what I mean.

God, it's great to be a Bruin!

Pete Carroll statistical note...

Stanford was 41-point underdog in 2006 and Cheat Pete couldn’t beat them at home. Could he possibly undercome anything by a greater margin? Well, yes. Yesterday SC was a 10-point favorite and lost by 34, blowing the point spread by a whopping 44 points.
Am not sure Dorrell or Lavin ever did that.

by ucla7477 on Nov 15, 2009 6:31 AM PST reply actions

and how many national championships did Lavin or Dorell win at UCLA?

by Dodgermanramon on Nov 15, 2009 11:16 PM PST via mobile up reply actions

didn’t Pete win a championship when USC beat Oklahoma in the Orange Bowl?

by Dodgermanramon on Nov 16, 2009 12:29 AM PST up reply actions

It was not a NCAA championship

b/c the NCAA does not recognize a champion in football. USC was awarded a BCS championship, however.

It’s quite possible that had their been a playoff that year, USC would have won a true championship. Unfortunately for all football fans, we weren’t able to find out. The idea of a true “champion” in college football will always be a sham until there is a reasonable playoff system.

And I say this not to discredit USC’s BCS title but rather to discredit the BCS system as a whole.

by insomniacslounge on Nov 16, 2009 12:53 AM PST up reply actions

that’s like saying the Yankees are not World Champions because they don’t play teams from leagues in other countries. Addmit it Pete has more championships at USC as head coach then Lavin or Dorrell did as head coaches

It's wonderful when a trOJie shows up

You get humiliated by a team you are favored to beat. You esteemed coach looks like a petulant child. And the best you can muster is a reference to the two worse “coaches” in UCLA history. As I recall, didn’t Coach Toledo’s successor manage a win against you guys? How can that not be the humiliation of all time. That guy couldn’t coach his way out of a wet paper bag. And didn’t the guy who single-handedly almost ruin Bruin basketball win game after game against you guys?

This is why Bruins so enjoy having a trOJie stop by, especially one who chooses Manny Ramirez of all possible role models to embrace in a screen name.

Not to put too fine a point on it, how many national championships did Larry Smith and Paul Hackett win? Or Timmeh, or Boyd or Twogood or Raveling or ….. And when you’re done discounting that, let’s get back to the main issue – institutional cheating. Oh, yeah. It never happened, and OJ is under cover looking for the real killers.

This is too easy.

"Look at 'em all runnin in...look at 'em runnin in"

(referencing $c players bolting without congratulating ’furd, said on camera for effect)

Cheaty: You alright? (at Harbaugh’s look of contempt)
Jim: Yeah….
Cheaty: Good game…
Jim: Whats your deal?

Classic. I hope Harbaugh stays. This is the SEC-type tension the PAC-10 needs ;)

Harbaugh

Will most likely end up in Michigan, specifically if Michigan gets a new AD. I am assuming a new AD will do everything he or she can to repair the relationship with Harbaugh which was damaged under Martin.

by Nestor on Nov 15, 2009 11:40 AM PST up reply actions

I don't think that will be all that soon.

Michigan has a huge investment in Rodriguez, on a par with Notre Dame’s investiment in CTS, I mean, Weis. I think Michigan would have to take too big a financial hit to try to grab Harbaugh any time in the next decade or so. I happen to think Harbaugh would be a perfect fit in Michigan (as I think Neuheisel is a perfect fit for us) and I want Harbaugh out of this conference fast because of the threat he poses to the Bruins’ return to dominance. Nonetheless, I don’t think he’ll be leaving too soon. The Furd looks to be the new bully in the neighborhood, albeit one that doesn’t cheat.

by Fox 71 on Nov 16, 2009 5:39 AM PST up reply actions

If Harbaugh goes anywhere this year

I’m guessing it’ll be to ND. But I’m kinda hoping to be wrong, because I’m enjoying the Pac-10 this year and I definitely think he’s turned up the competition by several notches.

GO BRUINS!!!

I didn't appreciate that!

I think I heard Petey telling Harbaugh after the game, “I didn’t appreciate that!” Too bad, Petey. At last someone did what you always do – run up the score – except for this year. Let’s hope the BRUINS can learn from Stanford and take it to the trOJies. GO BRUINS!

Matt Barkley

is reminding me more and more of good ole Rob Johnson, I’m happy to say.

by bru79 on Nov 16, 2009 3:19 AM PST reply actions

It's hard to top the Johnson family...

Bret came to QB at UCLA to much hype, flopped, whined, and transferred. This caused his brother Rob to not come to UCLA and to attend USC, where he is most known to Bruin fans for throwing an interception to Marvin Goodman in the end zone to send us to the Rose Bowl. So whatever team got a Johnson, got a rude surprise.

This just in

Dateline Orange County-There has been an unprcedented run on ankle braces in Orange County, Sports Authority Senior Vice President Billy Don Jackson speaking with the OC Register said, " At first we thought there may be a new volleyball club in the area but after a painstaking forensic sales analysis realized it was just suc fans getting ready to jump off the bandwagon". Wow who could of seen that coming? F@#^ the trojans.
