Heads Up: A "Visual Refresh" For BN Tomorrow

Guys. A quick note on house keeping. SBN will release a visual update to the layout of all blogs in the network. Part of the new lay out will include a refresh of the current visual design across all blogs, an effort to make posts more readable, and push text higher above the fold, and a first step in a project to improve load time. I think you guys will enjoy the cleaner look when it gets unveiled tomorrow. At least it's scheduled for tomorrow. GO BRUINS.

Wow

I like it a lot. It’s much cleaner and it just feels much less cluttered. Good work SBN!

Almost agree with you

The header needs some work. Otherwise, agree completely.

Oh and anybody who doesn’t need to have a logo needs to get one if they’re gonna fanshot or fanpost. This red star business is not cool.

Go Bruins!

Yeah

The headlines are awkward, and I think there should be more contrast in the background with the columns on each side. Load times feel quicker, though perhaps Windows 7 helps.

Def

Lots of feedback have been sent in re. the headlines. Looks like they have already made an effort to contrast the columns on each side by adding touch of gray.

Keep it coming guys.

Not a huge fan of the refresh

I liked that the comments would be bold and in a different color before, making it easy to know when there was a new one. There’s too much white and gray in this look too. It takes some of the flair and personalization away from the blogs. I loved see the blue and gold here, the purple and gold at SilverScreenandRoll.com, the burnt orange at BON. I mean, it’s still there, but not like it used to and I think it lacks the personality of the old way. The headlines are better though and the navigation of some of the navigational tools is better too.

Actually

The concern you bring up is a big one. Someone within SBN mentioned how the blogs look like the road uniforms (lot of white) of the respective home teams. And you know in most cases the home uniforms look much better.

Do you guys have any specific thoughts on how we can improve the situation? Because I would love to forward the feedback.
