Bowl Ties

As I was blogging earlier tonight on RanJeremySports, I came across a situation that perplexed me. I was looking at the schedules for teams in the conference and making predictions for the end of the season based upon them, and it is very possible that seven teams will finish with six or more wins. That of course largely depends on us down the stretch, Oregon State, and Stanford which has Cal/U$C/ND/UO to close out its season. If this scenario was to play out what would (probably) happen? Oh, and I doubt we will get another team (U$C) into a second BCS game.

Star-divide

Currently we have the Rose, Holiday, Sun, Emerald, Vegas, and Poinsettia bowls as sure tie-ins. What would happen if a 7th team was to be eligible? We could easily be #7, but maybe considered over #6 because of fan base, name recognition, etc right? Honestly, I am not really sure which is why I was wondering what you guys think about this. 6-6 teams are only eligible

if all other teams with a winning record have been chosen so if we’re 7th at 6-6 while the 6th place team is 7-5, it won’t matter if we have the better fan base. Should USC win out, I think they have a very, very good chance at getting into a BCS game actually, allowing us to slide in at 6-6, but first we need to win three more, beginning with UW.

yeah

i know we’d be eligible that’s why I was asking. In theory, stanford/osu could end up with 6 wins considering their remaining schedules and have a tiebreaker over us.

link?

Why does the link go through facebook? The text as displayed shows a direct link to the website but the actual link is different. Seems a bit weird. Why is it disguised? What is going on here?

Let's not get ahead of our blocking.

Let’s take this issue up again when we break our losing streak. Which sure ought to be this week.
