BN Gameday: Arizona State Game Thread

Well here we go. Our entire offensive line and Kevin Prince have done pretty good since that fourth quarter in Corvallis. This afternoon we are going to find out whether they (along with rest of our program) are ready to take another step forward. The game will kick off in about 15 mins on FSN. We are hoping we will hear a Rose Bowl that is loud and emotional ready to send off ATV, Carter and rest of the seniors on a great note.

As always if you need to cram in some last minute game notes, check out our game coverage. You can keep track of the game online via the official site and also the WWL game page. Here is starting November 1-0.

Let's get the party started. Fire away.

GO BRUINS.

I'm ready

And I understand the game is televised here! I’ll believe this when I see it.

Does anyone have a link to this game online?

An astonishly small crowd here

Thousands upon thousands of empty seats and a 1/3 full student section. Hopefully it fills up some, but this is embarassing.

Students need to pick it the f**k up

That’s pretty damn sorry.

UCLA students need to get their act together and fill out the student section. No excuses.

Mike Nixon - sigh

former UCLA commit – who ended up playing for the Dodgers (minor league). He was a great commit for Toledo.

The crowd always takes their sweet time getting into the game

by the end of the 1st quarter it will probably be at least 65k

Haha.

by Bellerophon on Nov 21, 2009 1:29 PM PST reply actions

Maybe

But it looked like there was a ASU player in the area. The ball just fell short because he was getting hit as he threw.

Why didn’t we do that earlier in the season when teams were exploiting the plays where BP took one off?

by DBL185 on Nov 21, 2009 1:39 PM PST reply actions

ASU QB is an "academic star"

With a mediocre 3.04 GPA in “Sustainability”

Sounds like Matty Leinert’s ballroom dancing class.

by Bellerophon on Nov 21, 2009 1:39 PM PST reply actions

I gotta say, we look dumb when we try to bring that up about Leinart

He had already graduated by the time he was taking the dancing class.
He stayed to try and win another title and he could take whatever classes he wanted just to remain eligible.

I really wish Bruin fans would stop trying to act like that was some scandal

by UCLABruins4Ever on Nov 21, 2009 1:41 PM PST up reply actions

You're missing the point

The point is that you can get academic credit at U$C for shit like ballroom dancing and “Spanish” with the Senora.

Seriously

The screen works because college defenders aren’t as on point as pros. There’s that natural tendency for college kids to see an open road to the QB and take it. You suck in 3 or 4 defenders toward an exposed QB, and all of a sudden you have numbers on the screen.

Not every school has smart guys on the field like ATV and Chris Joseph.

I'll Take The Points Obviously

But I’ll still feel a lot better when we can make a long drive – and finish it off with a TD.

ASU playcalling

The way they have been running, how do you let the young QB roll out there. You’re asking for disaster.

wow

can we get some competent refs here? PLEASE?

Has there ever been a player better than Detlef Schrempf?

by bucknellbruin on Nov 21, 2009 2:36 PM PST reply actions

That's bulls**t

They commit a penalty, so we don’t get to stop the clock. That’s so f**king weak.

by Bellerophon on Nov 21, 2009 2:36 PM PST reply actions

I have seen this before this season.

The officials start the clock after the penalty . . . just like on a first down.

Stupid, stupid, stupid!!!

by orlandobruin on Nov 21, 2009 2:37 PM PST reply actions

That Is Such BULLSHIT

F**cking SPTR’s.

How in the HELL do you lose 4 f**cking seconds trying to spike the ball????

Los Angeles Rams and the UCLA Bruins!!!!!

by Minnesota Bruinfan on Nov 21, 2009 2:37 PM PST reply actions

such bullshit

Has there ever been a player better than Detlef Schrempf?

by bucknellbruin on Nov 21, 2009 2:39 PM PST reply actions

SPTR

That’s fucking garbage.

You commit a penalty and get rewarded. Such bullshit.

I hope we come out in the second half and just bend these f**king a**holes over. Such garbage.

by Bellerophon on Nov 21, 2009 2:39 PM PST reply actions

Shouldn't a defensive penalty always stop the clock

Otherwise, i would commt lots of penalties to keep the clock running

Forbath is not tied with Kiffin for most FGs. We have 2 national leaders – Moore and Forbath. Pretty good. And it’s only half time.

Took them five minutes to decide their bad interpretation of the rules were legit.

Check out my article about the Dodger Dugout Club.

I wish they would complete the thought

“The ruling on the field stands…..

because we are SPTR’s and we have no idea what we’re doing."
