The great career of legendary Bruin J.J. Stokes. The greatest receiver in UCLA history and a true blue Bruin to this day took the time to chat with Josh and I on a special edition of the BruinsNation football podcast.
J.J. spoke with us about his time at UCLA and what Beat SC means to a Bruin. What's it like to walk out on the field for the UCLA/USC game and what are his thoughts on the UCLA program under Rick Neuheisel? J.J. gives us some insight into what his time at UCLA was like and also a talk he had with Nelson Rosario earlier this season. Of course, J.J. vividly recounts the play in the video below, as the UCLA legend went 90 yards to beat the Trojans and cap a 263 yard day.

holy crap, that was the most pathetic attempt at a tackle I’ve seen in a while
The "Go Bruins" exchange at the end of the interview
An interview of a Bruin for the ages.
And that "Go Bruins" exchange at the end. Earlier today, I was in Hilo on the Big Island of Hawaii at around 2:30 Los Angeles time (12:30 p.m. local time). I was walking on the main drag, Kamehameha Avenue, towards the weekly farmers market and the sidewalk is absolutely jammed with residents and tourists. I was wearing a blue shirt emblazoned with UCLA and a football. Some guy walked by me and saw the shirt and blurted out, "Go Bruins." Now he only saw me at the last second because the sidewalk is like I said jammed. I turned my head and he had already disappeared from view but I shouted out, "This Saturday we are gonna tear their throats out!" (I know the phrase "tear their throats out" is inelegant but we are talking about that fraudulent diploma issuance facility on Figueroa.) Anyway, the guy yells (and mean really hollers) back, "That’s right!" Just think, 3,000 miles from home and on a crowded Hilo sidewalk, two strangers (I never saw the guy) get fired up with the words, "Go Bruins." And then J.J. ends this interview with those two magic words—something special is in the air!
Go Bruins!
I never thought this would happen
All I wanted was to see the moderators opinion in something other than plain text. How I got from bystander too afraid to even drop a “Lol” on a Trojan joke in a comment to speaking with my personal idol is something that is beyond me. Thanks so much N and Rye, god bless BN!
There's no one in the world that wants to beat UCLA more than _______.
