Well we have had an interesting 24 hours here on BN. Yeah, we can get after each other here occasionally. It happens like it does in every family with pulse, passion, and immense sense of pride. If you didn't listen to JJ making the point about what is being Bruin all about, I recommend you do so this morning. It will put everything in perspective.

At the end of the day we are all in it together. Especially this week with that special game looming on Saturday and all the Ben Ball action starting tonight. I am with Kirk71: time to go all in.

A happy thanksgiving to all the students (yes, students - we love you all), alums, fans and the entire Bruin family that makes up this place. I will be around off and on today blogging about football, hoops and then will be hanging with you all in our Ben Ball game thread. Enjoy the turkey.

GO BRUINS.

To paraphrase Joe DiMagio

I thank the good Lord every day for making me a Bruin. I didn’t want to be anything else. Even before I started kindergarten, I knew I was going to go to UCLA.

I knew I had did good when the summer before my junior year at UCLA, I saw one of my brother’s friends. When he asked me where I was going to school, he got down on his knees in admiration.

Without UCLA, I would not have Mr. BB and Jonathan, my jobs and this wonderful community. Yes BN, I’m thankful for all you because you make me a better fan and keep me entertained.

GO BRUINS!

Happy Thanksgiving, all!

Co-sign Nestor’s comments about our differences being commonly rooted in passion for the same great program.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone...

I had an idea similar to Mexibruins, but I thought maybe we should take a full page ad out in the Daily Bruin to encourage the students to take their pride in UCLA more seriously.

I don’t think being negative would help, but if we could phrase it the right way, talk about how many great things have happened here, and how they can be part of them, I think that would be awesome. I would certainly kick in if others would too.

Tha apathy needs to end, but I think our best way to combat it is to light a candle, not curse the darkness…

Just an idea.

Count me in

FYI, should we go ahead with that, we would have to wait until January. Tenth week starts Monday and the Daily Bruin only publishes twice next week, then not at all during finals.

Anyone remember what that cost?

DD regulars should probably remember. I’m in for that idea.

Good idea, and I'm in

I might suggest, though, having it run at the beginning of next year’s fall quarter, with aim at the incoming freshman class and coinciding with the start of next year’s football campaign. Just a thought.

I'm in, too.

And not just for the good company – it’s a great idea and definitely needed.
