Here we go. DG and rest of the Ben Ball warriors will lift off tonight in the season's exhibition game.
BTW this thread gave me an excuse to look back the kind of post/thread we were putting up when we got this community started. It's always kind of fun to look back to get a sense of how much this place has grown over the years. So yeah, if you are interested check out the "game thread/post" for the season opening exhibition game against Carleton College we put up 4 years ago today. Yes, we had three comments! One of them happens to be from yours truly. Three final fours later things have changed. Just a little.
Anyway, for tonight you should know by now that the game is not televised. UCLA All-Access will carry this game online. You can get more details here. Earlier today I posted some game notes which you can read up on here. Also, if you haven't done it, you should think about downloading this year's media guide via the official site.
So let's get this party started. If you are watching the game on your computers tonight, share your first takes, impression on our Ben Ball warriors right here on BN. We would also love to hear your takes on the new kids if you are logging on after coming back from the game.

With Roll & Jerime sitting, we’ll see a lot of new faces and esp interesting to me will be the ball handling of Malcolm at the point.

ML is going to handle the ball a lot to spell JA. He is expected to handle it the same way RW did to start his soph. year when DC went down with an injury (in an exhibition game).

Mustafa is pretty shaky
Not that I expect a whole lot from him, but when we get in foul trouble in the backcourt, it might spell trouble for us this year.

There was a story on him in the DB a few years ago
He has a learning disorder, and his sister works at the university and gets his tickets for him.
Moser looked pretty good handling the ball
But I’m not sure if he can use those moves against D-1 competition.

I don't yet see the same defensive tenacity in ML
as we saw in AA and RW
Well
It’s way too early. He didn’ get the same mins AA and RW did in their first year (although someone check me re. RW reference because I could be wrong on that).
Evens out, considering ML missed games w/injury last year
Lee averaged 10.6mins in 29 games, RW played ~9.5-9.7mins, played every game

Our guys look awkward, tight and dis-organized.
So far, Mustafa is having a tough time at pg and Malcolm was a bit shaky as well.
But, it’s so darn early for this team. Think how long Shipp, Roll, Collison, etc, etc had been playing together. This is a brand new mix of players, especically considering Roll and Jerime out.
