BN Gameday: Washington Game Thread

Washington Huskies at UCLA Bruins, Nov 7, 2009 12:30 PM PST

Not much else to say at this point. We need Jet Ski and co. to cross the goal line when they get in the red zone today. So here is to repeat of the scene again and again at the Rose Bowl.

The game will kick off in about half an hour.FS Prime Ticket will air the game in the Los Angeles area with Bill Macdonald and James Washington in the booth and Brooke Olzendam and Courtney Jones on the sidelines. The game will also air on Fox College Sports - Central and other regions. For some reason, here in the DC area and other places around the country, we will have to wait till the Colorado-Texas A&M game to be over until we get live feed into our game (around 5 pm EST). So if anyone has link for live online stream please put it up in the game thread.

As always if you need to cram in some last minute game notes, check out our game coverage. You can keep track of the game online via the official site and also the WWL game page. Here is starting November 1-0.

Fire away.

GO BRUINS.

Thanks, Nestor

Yeah, I hope the 2nd half of my afternoon goes considerably better as well. As for Iowa, well, you know, you can only live on luck and fun for so long (I think we found that out back in ‘05). When you lose your top 2 RBs, an anchor OL player, and now your starting QB, shit is going to eventually catch up with you and it wouldn’t surprise me to see Iowa get clobbered in C-bus next week playing Ohio St.

As for us, I just hope we can come out and build on the great 4th quarter we had up in Corvallis. I think we’re up for the task. BTW, I’m not sure if we have the game on TV here in the Twin Cities or not.

Here In The Twin Cities

I’ve definitely got the Quackeroos going up against Stanford. Looks like I’ll be relying on my Bruin brothers and sisters out in the Motherland again.

I think

You will get our game on one of the Fox channels starting at 5 pm EST. I will get it on the channel that has CU-Texas A&M game on.

As for Iowa, they have had a great season no matter what happened today.

Still have the lead

The D stopped them when it counted

fortunate

for how easy they moved the ball, to give up only 3 and still keep the lead is big for this team.

Our O is rolling, but we can’t expect the to put up 7 on every possession.

This is sad.

If we can actually stay in this game with 2 fumbles and a pic, and Bullough, and our tackling, it would be a minor miracle.

Agree with JW

turnovers, penalties, and giving up big plays is all UW has.

greg in denver - UCLA guy for life

by gbruin on Nov 7, 2009 1:48 PM PST reply actions

DAMN.

Prince needs to slide.

I don’t think the hit was dirty. The defensive player was in form and you’re taught to get down low. It’s the QB’s job to slide to protect himself.

This hurts. There’s a pit in my stomach. I hope he’s okay.

by ishXdavid on Nov 7, 2009 1:49 PM PST reply actions

freakin' idiot

I like the drive to get yardage…but did he not learn from previous experience???? Agree on comments about hit, and about Brehaut, but no clue what KP was thinking.

by AZBruin on Nov 7, 2009 1:49 PM PST reply actions

While that shot was increidbly cheap

Prince still has to freaking slide or go out of bounce.

by Nestor on Nov 7, 2009 1:49 PM PST reply actions

Wow the pac 10 hates UCLA

Has there been a penalty againt UW?

by bruinbrah on Nov 7, 2009 1:50 PM PST reply actions

bad hit, but prince should know better

There’s a reason they allow qb’s to slide—to avoid injury. Anytime you don’t slide you leave yourself open to injury. Bad idea.

by BruinsRule on Nov 7, 2009 1:50 PM PST via mobile reply actions

He needs to work on his slide, but love the effort.

Brehaut

Has absolutley no pocket awareness.

by hongerelli on Nov 7, 2009 1:55 PM PST via mobile reply actions

what angle was the helmet to helmet hit?

Front of the helmet? Side of the helmet? Back?

If it’s from the side then Prince is probably out the whole game for an MRI.

by wingsabre on Nov 7, 2009 1:55 PM PST reply actions

That's a shitty play call

he should have 1 throw – near corner end zone – no read – just throw to a spot

by Nakatomi Plaza on Nov 7, 2009 1:56 PM PST reply actions

Some more blown opportunities

I feel like cole hammels, I am ready for next year

by bruinbrah on Nov 7, 2009 1:56 PM PST reply actions

It didn't seem like a cheap shot to me

The defender didn’t launch at him at all. It was as much caused by Prince falling forward as it was by the defender dropping for the hit. Just an unfortunate series of events

Calling for retribution is uncalled for IMO. There is no place for that.

D. Why bother

because I’m doing halftime for the radio station for the Penn-Princeton football game, but I heard about this hit on Prince. Retribution is totally called for. Go for Locker’s thigh
