My understanding is that the photographer typically writes their own captions and submits them along with his/her photographs to whoever hired him. Based solely on his online portfolio, it appears that most of this photographer’s sports work is done at Orange County high schools. I’ve contacted him to make him aware of the error. I’ll let you know if I get a response.

Thanks for the heads-up. I feel like a buffoon for messing up that caption. You’re absolutely right that it’s pretty glaring. Thanks again.

I have both envy and sympathy for game photographers. With the internet era and the demand for immediate images, they have to edit, process, and caption their photos on the fly and transmit them to whoever they’re working for at the end of each half. They have 20 minute windows to do something that would take most people hours. So it’s no wonder that mistakes like this happen from time to time. That being said, if any of those photographers wanted to trade positions w/ me, I’d jump at thatchance without hesitation.
