Poll Voter Stupidity
My rant about the stupidity of people who vote in the polls. The crosstown (alleged) criminals are ranked higher than Oregon.

Preseason polls
The root of the poll flaws are the preseason rankings.

Absolutely right
The polls are a ridiculous system. Rankings change too much week to week in response to the most recent game, instead of reflecting the season’s worth of work. The whole theory that losing early is better because a team has time to move back up in the rankings is senseless. I am looking forward to the day when a team loses a game and, deservedly, moves up in the rankings.
Sometimes, democracy is stupid. A wise and benevolent dictator would help NCAA football immeasurably. I’ll volunteer.

I cannot recall when
But I have seen a team move up in the polls based on a close loss to a higher ranked team. If I recall correctly, it involved the SEC … go figure.
