[UPDATED w info from DC Bruins] ATTN All Bruins going to Washington DC
Bumed with information from DC Bruins alumni club below. GO BRUINS. -N
Congratulations to the UCLA bruins and CRN for heading to the postseason in his 2nd year of coaching. I am so excited to see UCLA play in Washington DC, as are all of the bruinsnation.
That being said, there are so many of us traveling from all parts of the world and i think it would be nice to share thoughts about the possibility of a bruinsnation gameday tailgate.
I heard that UCLA may throw a BRUIN BASH (tailgate) in Washington DC, and if thats the case then it would be nice to have a dialogue for all interested in attending so we can all have a great time together!I know Nestor in the coming days will post some activities/bars for the out-of-towners, so until then lets start talking about how to make the GAMEDAY experience one to REMEMBER for the ages! I say we exchange comments and emails so that when we get to DC, we will all have a great time!
GO BRUINS!
UPDATE (N): The alumni club in DC just sent this email out re. happy hour:
DC Bruins Pep Rally Happy Hour
On Monday, December 28, the DC Bruins will be hosting a Pep Rally Happy Hour at our home bar, Bar Louie from 6:30pm-9:30pm. This is the perfect place to gather with fellow Bruins prior to the game the next day and enjoy our $3 drafts, plus the Bruin Shooter that we had all football season long.
If you're interested, please RSVP here.
And about the Bruin Bash:
Bruin Bash and Fan Travel
Prior to the Football game itself on Tuesday, UCLA Fan Travel is hosting Bruin Bash at the Armory just steps away from RFK. See the band and get pumped up with alumni from across the nation. This opportunity is extended by the DC Bruins to our alumni in the area. Click here to see options with Fan Travel and be sure to call them at (310) 206-2873.
Hmm. Guess they don't know that the band is not coming to DC.
GO BRUINS.
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of BruinsNation's (BN) editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of BN's editors.

Bruin Bash is a joke
I’ll never go back to one of those overhyped half-rate pep rallies after I got charged 150 bucks for a cardboard hamburger in South Bend. I suggest that we throw our own tailgate: it costs less and is way more fun

Really?
I went to the Bruin Bash in Tuscaloosa and that was actually a lot of fun. Pretty good food, great people, the band and cheerleaders came out. And yeah, Steve Lavin came by too. lol
Perhaps, we can see what details come out in next 2 days. I am also guessing the alumni club here will throw shindigs around the game too.
Ya really
I’ve been to 5 or 6 and all of them were nothing short of disappointing; the only that was decent was the one in the LV Bowl a couple of years back, Ben Olson was there shaking hands as was Mercedes Lewis’ family… what happened to his brother? I heard he was coming out of LB-Poly. Any recruiting info available?

Stanford vs ucla bash
This year when ucla played at stanford, me and my friends went to the bruin bash. It was about $25 or so and was a pretty decent experience. The only bad thing is waiting in a long line for drinks and food. I really liked that the band was there and played all the fight songs. And the ucla cheerleaders were there, that’s never a bad thing! Haha
Anyways, If we can set up something where we have our own, let’s do it. I guess people that live in DC can help with all the big supplies (BBQ grill, tables, etc) and we out-of-towners can bring the small stuff (food, drinks, etc). What you guys think??

Yeah
I am personally leaning towards doing the Bruin Bash on gameday. I think for BNers/out of towners, it could be cool to set a big happy hour up either after the game or before it on Monday. I was going to wait till Tuesday to see what the folks here in DC are planning.
True
Yeah that maybe easier for everyone. We just show up and everything will be there.
I like the happy hour idea the day before gameday! I’m getting really excited about DC!

Yeah
Obviously there are same solid bars. I have one already in mind but again want to see what the DC alums want to do.
I have been to road trips (basketball/football games) out here for UCLA and alums here always get jacked up for the games. It is going to be a blast.
I've been to several of them and always thought they did well...
the lines can be long but considering they are trying to set up a tailgate from out of town its always been pretty good. People may say they’d like to set up their own BruinNation tailgate…I don’t think they understand how logistically challenging it’d be. I’d be interested tho!
I loved the one in Knoxville this year
Great food, lots of beer, pep squad, band; it had everything I could have wanted
Ugh
I really want to go, but all my cash is tied up in my trip to the World Cup. If I can swing it, I’ll try to make it, but it looks bleak.

Question to all:
So what day are you all arriving to DC? I’m arriving on Monday the 28th.
Update to DC Bruins Party
The time that went out on the first batch of emails from the DC Bruins was wrong. The happy hour party on Monday 12/28 will start at 730pm at Bar Louie.
