Bob Knight Calls Out Calipari
"We've gotten into this situation where integrity is really lacking and that's why I'm glad I'm not coaching," he said. "You see we've got a coach at Kentucky who put two schools on probation and he's still coaching. I really don't understand that."
Though at the same time, Calipari has never actually physically assaulted any of his students to the best of my knowledge...

Well, Bobby Knight has a knack for calling it how he sees it.
No sugarcoating anything.
And Calamari is a squirmy POS. Nothing new there.
Beat me to it!
Thanks for posting the link. I think this article and speech by Bob Knight is quite timely. For all those folks out there thinking about getting another coach who will “open up the offense” and “let the kids play to their strengths,” we should keep in mind that Calipari is exactly one of those coaches.
It really is quite shocking that he is still coaching in spite of the fact that he will have at least two years of his coaching record wiped from the books due to serious violations none of which were his fault of course.
Do we want sleaze balls like Calipari and Levin or honorable coaches like CBH?
I wholeheartedly vote for CBH!
One step ahead of the "law"
I put the word “law” in quotes because NCAA “rules” and the enforcement thereof should not be confused with “law.” While I am no fan of bully Bob Knight, I agree with him that it is a disgrace that someone like Calipari can keep running around the country with impunity, while the institutions that he left get somewhat nailed for his violations. His current team, which has its own sordid history of NCAA violations and point shaving going back decades, has all the looks of an outlaw team. I am bitter that we lost to his Memphis team in the Final Four which used a point guard who apparently didn’t even take the SAT – but for that player, Memphis wouldn’t have beaten UCLA and probably wouldn’t have even made it that far. The NCAA is a joke in terms of its enforcement of its “rules.” That $C continues to run amok is Exhibit A. It is becoming increasingly difficult for me to really get enthusiastic about watching NCAA football and basketball because of all of the cheating and uneven enforcement of the “rules” by the NCAA. The veneration of people like Calipari by the WWL, “Duke” Vitale and the Lizard of Westwood really makes me sick.
Knight is interesting
because while he had his issues, his teams always graduated an incredibly high number of players, his players weren’t out acting like fools and you didn’t see the NCAA sniff him for breaking recruitment rules. From that perspective, he did a phenomenal job, but you can excuse the chair throwing, grabbing, pushing and the other stuff Knight did. I never thought that enough attention was paid to all the great things he did as a coach, from an off the court perspective.

He looks much better in comparison to the current group of coaches
but paled when compared to his contemporaries, including Coach.
I’ve really softened on him. Used to dislike him and always root against him. Today, I’d pull for him against half the coaches in the game.
I also think his persona as a commentator is better than that as a coach. Abusing kids is not coaching — no matter the fine results on the court and off.
Take the kids away, substitute a mic and I find a lot more good in him.
