Okay I can't get mad about this. This is pretty damn funny. This will make everyone laugh despite all the "discussion" we have had about the "over the wall." May be Rick Neuheisel knows what he is doing.

GO BRUINS.

Having made a habit of jumping off 50' cliffs as a kid

All I can say is “above all, keep your feet together!” :-)

I thought Hasiak/XSF jumping together was interesting

For couple of reasons: 1) they always seemed to be together like good buddies. 2) Hasiak looks like he is having a lot fun (which is really cool after his first quarter (not so atypical) freshman blues). Kai Maivia was freaking hilarious.

Maivia with the belly flop

classic!

That was great!

I like that they are having fun and doing things like this as a team. Can’t wait til December 29th! GO BRUINS!!!

I think now is also a good time to

give the Morgan Center credit. They’ve been lagging behind on stuff like this for a while and we’ve rightfully called them on it. The official site still isn’t the best and they have a long ways to go all the way around, but videos like this and other ones they’re putting up are a major step forward. Well done to whoever is behind this all.

+1

Good start, hopefully they can get the balling rolling with more.

A few thoughts

1. This is inexcusable – We live in Southern California. Some of these kids (and COACHES, CRN) are way too pale.

2. Best splash – Either XSF or Hasiak. Couldn’t tell which splash came from who after they zoomed out

3. Best bellyflop – Kai Maiava. Having done many bellyflops over the years, the one that hurts the most is the one he did: hands and feet first, belly last.

OMG

I thought he was going to die on that bellyflop. That hurts from 3 feet up, but from the high dive? I want a picture of his stomach after that.

This was awesome, some good positive PR spin also.

Hold up a min here BN....

Dorrell had the Bruins diving during his time as coach too…. unfortunately it was in the rankings :(

Great video. I heard a rumor about this going down. Too bad the pool wasn’t filled with ice water, because they’ll be playing in those conditions on the 29th.

New question...

Is CRN’s belly too soft to coach at UCLA?

by AllHailMightyBruins on Dec 18, 2009 3:21 PM PST reply actions

I thought there were a couple in there

I knew there would be one guy who plugged his nose (I would too). Hilarious stuff all around.

by AllHailMightyBruins on Dec 18, 2009 3:26 PM PST up reply actions

Mr Nose Plugger I think is Logan Paulsen

since he was speaking during the nose plugging jump.

I think the shortest shorts were probably worn by Kyle Bosworth (once again, talking during the video of those jumps)

Absolutely Great!

My vote goes to Kai. Cat like. But, then, again, I don’t think cats like water.

Oh Rick please--$20 abs

Hey Coach, whatever happened to that situp routine? I’m in my 60’s and I have a flatter stomach than you. AllHailMightyBruins is being polite making the point about a soft stomach. Some of the offensive lineman have flatter stomachs that you. Oh Coach, say it isn’t so.

PS We love you anyway.

so maybe the wall...

wasn’t so bad after all… i always see CRN as teacher first. learning should be fun. all i want is 110% on the exam (ie football field). GO BRUINS!

Oh Coach Howland--you're next!

When you get us to 6-6, you gotta jump and you best not be wearing a basketball jersey.
Go Bruins!

Camaraderie and memories

The time leading up to the bowl games should be special and memorable for the players. The Rose Bowl has the Lawry Bowl and Disneyland as part of the festivities. I don’t know what the EagleBank Bowl has planned in DC for the players, I heard sight seeing at the National monuments.

I wonder if CRN was okay with the WALL jump because the tradeoff was unity amongst the players. I am still upset when I think 1998 team and how there was some dissension between the offense and defense. It might have cost a trip to the national championship game.

I’m sure the lost practice time will be made up during the week. I just hope they are ready to play on the 29th.

Go Bruins!

Dear Mike Harris,

Yes, water is wet.

lol. The guy is a warrior and a solid Bruin, but his comment about it just being water isn’t exactly the most brilliant line, haha. Sorry.

And Kai Maiva……OUCH!!!! I hope he’s ok to play in the bowl. A picture-perfect, pain-maximized 50 foot belly flop by a 300lb lineman is a sight to behold.
Nestor, thank you for posting this.

That is great

Is that at Men’s Gym or up near Hedrick?

by bruin95 on Dec 19, 2009 9:32 AM PST reply actions

Spieker

It’s up at Sunset Canyon Rec Center, right across from the parking structure, in the vicinity of the two other pools. I believe it was constructed where the first row of tennis courts used to be.

This is AWESOME

Not many places where you can do this in DECEMBER!!!

But hey, what do I know. I’m just the 800 lbs bruin in the room.
